Hey guys,

Can somebody suggest the best tires and rim combo for this car for asphalt? There are so many tires, rims and compounds, getting a handle on all this is starting to feel like learning electric after strictly running nitro.

The Ride R1's are quite popular, where I race the Pit Shimizu tires both slick and grooved hook up well. I run Tamiya F104 rims, but the Exotec rim are good as well.

Sweep also make good tires, but their tire foam is a complete pain in the @$$.

What is the legal ride height for rubber tire F1, and what other bodies fit the X11 that is scale.

Thanks, And I'm starting to understand the F1 tire game. So, The f103 tires and wheels are for the older f1 '80's and '90's style cars (short and wide) while the f104 tires and wheels are for the modern day f1 set up (tall and narrower). And I also I see, as you pointed out that the R1's are very popular. I have a question: Are the R1's taller than the regular f104 wheels? I ask because I always see the 63mm note in the R 1's description, whereas I don't see that note in the reg f104 description. Are there any differences in height or width?

Thanks in advance.

Yes Ride R1's are slightly taller then Shimizu 104 tyres. I usually change ride height by 1mm when switching between the two.

The R1 tires/rims are wider than the f104 rims.
F104 front rims: 30mm wide.
F104 rear rims: 35mm wide.

Ride front rims: 32.5mm wide.
Ride rear rims: 38mm wide.

What servo fits the stock mounts? Is that a low profile servo, like in a touring car, or is it a mini servo like the ko pds 951 or futaba 9650?
