Yes, it is even better than in my 12th. I think the rubber tires love it more than the foams do. It isn't as sensitive to throttle inputs as it is on the 12th so it is easier to drive. The 12th took some getting used to at first. but I love them on both now. I dropped my lap times 7 tenths by going to the spool. The only thing that has been a downer was chewing teeth up on spurs when a crash happens. Since the rubber doesn't slip, it would break of teeth when they hit the ground under throttle. I had another racer clip me and it happened 2x in the same day. The motor didn't move, it just chopped teeth off.

I must agree as well. For rubber tires, it is quite noticeable over the Fenix diff/ball diff on high traction black carpet. I honestly did not have to change much in my setup and it was still very drivable. Geared a bit taller due to the lightness of the spool. Very fast. I will be going to a spool for my WGTR car too.

1/12 spool was a different story. Very tricky to drive. After making some setup changes to soften all my springs, it was more manageable, but still a handful on 13.5 power. The xray gear diff should be interesting. It is lighter than the Fenix diff and should be interesting to test in F1.

what's yall setup running that spool? like i put the spool in and for the first time finally put 3* toe out on the front to get turn in and the car turns in....but it just seems....something feels edgier. but i feel if i take the toe out i wont have the entry steering anymore. my ackermann is set to the most aggressive way to get the entry steering. so i'm just here for setups...

i do love the spool in my 12th a whole lot too tho. just trying to figure out how to gear that thing with it in

Is the Xray gear diff compatible with the '16 X1? Amain shows it is only compatible with '17, '18.

Can anyone confirm?

I think I read somewhere people are using 20k CST on black carpet 25.5 racing.

My Xray gear diff is still unassembled. RC America says the gear diff carbon shaft might be a few weeks away to arriving. I'm in no rush, preferring the spool setup so far.

Of course Xray didn't include a carbon shaft, more $$$ for you to spend.

My spool setup is 6 deg caster, 1-1.5 degree toe out. 1.5 front spring and 0.6 side spring.

The gold 0.9 side springs can make the car feel edgy with the spool.

I refilled mine 3 times before found the action/ feeling I wanted 10k as listed in instruction sheet 30k and ended with 60k for first practice and loved it
I usually run a Fenix gear diff with 2.5m
I just buy a second xray diff to test with maybe higher cst!
