Default Looking for a competition grade 1/10 scale kit

New to onroad 1/10 scales, I've had my share of off road bashers and buggys. I would like to purchase a kit touring car , will strictly be for racing on a track. I am not looking for a neighboorhood brawler. I have a hobby store with in minutes from my house with a beautifully set up asphalt track. Ideally would like to end up at around $800 minus battery's already plan on purchasing a spektrum DX3r to use on multiple RCs. I am looking for pointers on what kit I should purchase along with motor and esc and weak links in specified kit.

I've been looking around recently at getting a new chassis (possibly switching brands from xray) and I've just ordered a VBC D06 - from what I've read, the quality of parts is second to none, so just as good as the most expensive kits, however it's much more reasonably priced. It's doing quite well on the track too. A good direction to look into anyway.

800 is going to be difficult to do if you dont already have a radio system... The little things really add up in cost.

What kit does your hobbyshop sell? What kit are people running?

shop sells xray t4. Bought a futuba 4pls today, im in awe over the controls and settings this radio has to offer. $800 is just for the car and electronics minus battery, looking forward to building a touring car from the ground up.

800 can get you any car on the market. That's a hell of a budget.

Pick the one that most local guys run and get that one. You'll have the most setup help as well as having the parts supply if (when?) you break parts

You got two choices here:
Real cheap $300 : tc4 roller + dc4 le kit(trimmed)
Not so cheap $750 : Awesomatix A700L or the new A700L evo

If your shop sells xray then go with that.
T4'14- $500
Orca VXX esc-$180
Motor of choice-$90
Savox 1251 Servo- $60.
That's just a tad over the budget and you have a top of the line setup.
