Default HPI Stratos on JL12e?

Does the above sound feasible?

After reading this guide, I would say it has to be midship engine and very low profile front suspension.
http://www.blackholesun.fr/RC_Stratos_US.php

Here's the dimensions I've found:

Ofna/HPI

Wheelbase:216mm/210mm (miniscule difference or concern?)
width: 165mm/152mm (with 0mm offset is chassis too wide for body?)

As far as height, I doubt that's a concern aside from the front shock tower. And the chassis doesn't have a rear mounted motor like the Tamiya M06 (which otherwise might work).

Thoughts welcome.

Also I picked up a 1/10 Tamiya Lancia 037 body parts set. Can anyone recommend a modern chassis for it? It's 237mm wheelbase, used TA03 in the past.

6mm off on the wheelbase is a lot. The chassis is also rather narrow, but that can be made up for with ofset hubs or wheels.

agreed.
the width wouldn't be an issue, using high offset wheels or hubs will take car of that easily. however, you're wheel well's will be quite funky looking being off by 6mm.

Thanks for the input. Think I will mock it up in Adobe Illustrator before ordering anything :-)

Hmmm.... it is a rally car...

thoughts? The Vaterra seems like a better wheelbase fit but.. the Stratos body is 152mm wide and the Vaterra is 180mm wide.

I'm pretty sure the Ofna JL12e (Active Hobbies A210 clone) has a wheelbase of 210mm

You really need an exact fit due to the way the wheel arches flare... A little off and it will look funny.

Its 210mm, I had one before. I sold it a long time ago but I think it had adjustable wheelbase. The 216mm may be its maximum wheelbase. My Tamiya Mini Cooper body fit on it fine.

Forgot to say thank you, Thank you.

I'm going to do the Kemora off-road with Alitalia livery.

Perhaps I will eventually do the ofna as a road-going stratos with this color (but with spoiler and b-piller ring in black):

OFNA cancelled the JL12e. Going to get something else.
