Default Comparison of Sedan kits..? Best of...???

I'm goin to enter the world of Sedan racing and I wanted to know your thoughts on kits.

I am interested in the
Xray T4 '14 Everyone here in Dallas runs these and can get alot of help.
Serpent Eryx quality and tuff.
HB TCXX Planning on getting a d413 when they come out, got me to looking at the HB product line.

Are the newer kits that much better?
Is there a better kit in this price range?
What is considered the best sedan kit available?

I know this is all speculative and oppinionated.
Please try to keep it somewhat factual..... What you find better about this kit because of CG, belts.... etc.
You know what do you think makes it better.
Tamiyas seem week? (as in fragile... that has got to start a debate...lol)

Thank you and help me form an oppinion.

I thought I would have seen tamiya TRF cars on that list. Yes though, pick a car that is used locally so there is a wealth of knowledge.

Are you going to be racing at Mikes? Pretty much everyone down here has Xrays, although a couple of guys I know are branching out into different makes.

Running a T4'14 would be a very good option, especially if it's your first time going to the carpet side. Mikes always stocks Xray parts. You'll have a ton of setup help and parts won't be an issue. The '14 has a ton of upgrades from the previous T4, so if you were going to put the money out for a new kit, it'd be best to get a '14. If not, I know of probably 5 guys that are selling their used T4's and picking up different cars. I bought mine used from a local guy and it's been fantastic.

The ERYX is nice, but the shocks are absolutely terrible and require some aftermarket parts to really get them working well. That being said, it's a damn good car.

The TCXX is also very nice, but the one guy that ran one here at Mikes quickly sold it back and picked up another T3. Build quality just isn't as nice as the Xray, and you basically have to get the RPM ballcups or else they'll pop out all the time.
