Default ITT: What Batteries to use to build a pack.

Hello guys, I am trying to build a battery pack. The pack is not intended to be used in r/c though. I thought this would be perfect place to post since most know about batteries more than I do. I play paintball and I need a battery pack for my Hopper(will show pic for people don't know what it is). I am tired of replacing 6 AA batteries almost everyday of use. The hopper will run good with a voltage of about 9.6. I am trying to buy this under 35$ with a cheap wall charger. Any Suggestions would be Greatly appreciated. Also Weight is one of the biggest factors. If the pack can be lighter than 6AA battery or around same weight of 2 9V batteries it would be Great.
I plan to make a couple packs and sell them As a profit. There are a few people who do it already and charge ~45-50$ for the pack and a charger. They use AAA batteries(850mah).

*btw, I know of Rctech Because I used to Race R/c Cars*

Thats the hopper.

Go to http://maxamps.com/ look under air gun packs. They also make packs and sell batteries at a reasonable cost.

For wieght you could use a three cell li-po pack that will weight nearly nothing in comparison to 6AA's Also you would have to put a regulator on it as three cells of li-po is 11.6V...But man youwould have power for days. as they come in mah as high as 6000mah..so really if you are just trying to make your own ultra hop up pack this would probably work...I would go with a six cell 1100mah 2/3A pack from Orion as it is small and would give you the same votage but runtime would be better than the 850mah you are usign now. Or do what us old people do make a six cell AA pack and that shaves all the weight of the case that held them before...

There are some many different things you can do. But remember if you want to be the best you have to pay the most...JUST KIDDING....I think you will be suprised with those Orion 1100Mah pacsk though..Lighter than AA's and those GP cells are made for high output so you should have great action from them. They also sell them matched as well as Integy because of the micro craze.
Hope this helps,

Heres a quick and viable fix. You say your using AA's , well get energizer recharables from wal-mart. They are 2500mah they even have one that comes with a 15minute wall charger, but with 4 cells. You could buy 2 packs , but they cost like 15 for a pack of 4. They are nimh cells.

I would buy the 8 pack which is 16 dollars without the carger and find a charger that can do nimh cells. I know the ionic is a good cheap solution that you can find used and then you need some way to connect the wires. Its pretty simple stuff almost anything will do.

But if you want to solve the problem get the dual wall charger setup and you can be recharged within 15 minutes and back out shooting again. All for $30 dollars total you really cant go wrong and nothing needs to be modified.

You can always buy the AAA rechargables and make a pack your own. Just search up how to build a battery pack for an rc car.
