Glad to see this will be a full kit eventually.
For the CRC crew:
Any ETA of the new kit, or the conversion parts? Need to know when I need to have the money saved up and ready!

The biggest thing I've found on other 2WD platforms is the gain in weight bias to the rear end. I don't have experience with F1, but the same has been true for me on 1/12th and other 1/10th cars.
I've also heard that it helps with chassis roll, and thus traction rolling, but I have no experience with this...
Seems most of the manufacturers of F1 cars nowadays are going with the transverse configuration. I'm sure its for a good reason.

From a CRC report at Cleveland, they are reporting of a, in their words, a Tweaked Version of the car is being run.

getting warmer... it wont be long... Thanks for checking on the progress.
Yes, but not easy, transverse battery placement makes the original Tamiya bodies fit poorly.

I've been practicing at my local track which has a low grip (non crc) carpet. What can I do to tune in more grip, front and rear? The car will not turn in without a lot of braking (which makes the car swap ends, of course, and also needs to be babied one on the throttle, until we get some traction built up. If I do manage to get into the corner at speed with proper braking, it still turns in a bit too much.
I'm using the stock setup, but I'm considering a few changes
Softer main spring
Thicker dampening tube lube
I forgot to mention that I'm using Shimizu/TCS tires with SXT 3

1) softer tires
2) more droop
3) softer front springs (stock 0.45 kit springs are already pretty soft though)
4) little or no side spring pre-load. (some might even set a 1mm gap.)
5) lighter shock oil.
I fought with this condition for quite some time and found that droop was my biggest problem towards getting it to turn in consistently. Like you, I had to be very gentle with the throttle.
