as you can see its hard to just pull an fdr from a hat

but at the end of the day the best answer will come from someone at the same track with the same motor
different motors react differently and require there own type of fdr,a long fast track will want a low fdr but a small track will want a higher fdr,its all down to motor temp, you could easily blow a motor in 3 minutes flat with the wrong fdr hence why i say ask at the track,$140 is at stake if you get it wrong, and thats only if the blown motor doesn't take out the esc as well

Is the Composite front spool ok for a 4.0T motor on asphalt?

Why do people insist on setting up their car with, and running with, "flex"?
If your chassis is flexing surely you are taking something away from your shocks, springs and tyres? It can't be making those components work to their full potential?

Hey what's up man. It's pretty fun, I prefer outdoor but it's a nice fix for onroad during the winter ..t's kind of far to go every weekend. Going to start running some 1/8th buggy at that new track the clubhouse. I'll probably go to Toledo once every couple weeks though.

Thinking about building a T4 for the summer and see which I like more the ERYX or the T4. The front composite spool kind of threw me off, sounds great as long as it can hold up to the power of a 4.0-4.5

I've noticed a bit of wear on the outdrives, but I've never had one break just from usage. They'll last a long time

Has anyone played with which balls on the rear arm you connect the swaybar to?

Prepared a new body for the final race of 2013.

Forgot today was Sunday and missed the race completely. I need to find a 9-5 job with proper weekends...

i had the same discussion at the track today and quite a few were running with either 2 or 4 screws removed,i had a stiffener fitted to the rear of the top deck and all screws in place and posted the fastest lap in blinky and finished 1st and 2nd in the a finals, ive tried a few conditions and not once have i found it helps,i think itll help more in mod but for 13.5boosted and 17.5 blinky it hasnt helped me,not saying it doesnt help others

Flex is mostly about widening the setup window, by either making the car easier to drive (to a point) or generating traction. Especially on an outdoor track the conditions of the track can change pretty dramatically between races. While it's likely true that a perfect setup can be found and can be faster with much less flex, you'll also miss the setup window much easier.

Case in point, when I drove the first Awesomatix car, a car that was originally designed for foam tires and as such was quite stiff, the car was either unbelievable great or it was pretty terrible, very rarely in between. Since then, they've gone to a much more flexible setup, in most cases, and have found consistency. Anecdotal, yes, but this is essentially an opinion forum after all.
