I have been an associated guy pretty much my whole racing career (ever since the tc3 came out) but have been contemplating switching to xray. I really like the engineering put into their cars. Would this new t4 2014 edition be a good xray to start out with? I would be racing 17.5 touring and some VTA on asphault and carpet. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. I currently have two tc6.1 cars but am considering selling both and getting an xray.

Absolutely. It's the most durable car made with the largest setup window.

I ordered my T4 protectors off Ebay.

I added some extra holes to one last night and fitted it to the '14.

Don't know anywhere else that does them.

If you're worried, just add a lot of cell tape to the bottom of the chassis.

i shoe goo a 2" strip of lexan to stop it wearing the chassis away just under the motor, trying to protect the motor has always failed ,but thanks for the tip, cell tape should stop the rest getting scratched when i launch it off the kerbs

+1, I had same dilemma and very glad to have chosen the Xray T4. Improved quality and performance from day one (Carpet and Asphalt). You wouldn't be dissapointed. Can't wait to purchase the T4 '14 platform.

Skiddins, does the protector you got effect the flex of the chassis? I tried Yeah Racing chassis film but found that it was too stiff and took it off. The way setups are now, flex seems very important.

Have been running the chassis protecter for a why and it don't effect the flex, you just need to run the chassis a touch higher, not a lot just a touch.

The protector is basically a thicker vinyl sticker, so pretty flexible when off the chassis.

Yes

Bare in mind that there are holes missing for the '14 and the shape of the new chassis is now different.
