Started building one of these kits today. I'm questioning the spur gear riding directly on the axle instead of a bearing?.?. Is this how you guys are running these cars?

I thought about a bearing on mine, but have been reading that folks are lightly sanding the spur to get a bit looser fit. Tried it with 600 grit and it worked great. Roll a piece tight, insert, and then sand the opposite direction. The roll will open up and create a nice centered position.

You do not really need a bearing. But need to make sure the spur spin freely on the main shaft or you will have issue with the diff...... Usually we just enlarge the center hole of the spur slightly with a reamer.

Spur will be fine. I have mine built this way and have not had any issues so far. Don't go crazy with the fit, too loose and mesh will get bad.

I have got to have one of these! Big glaring problem though. I have spent lots of time up close with these cars and there needs to be way more bling under the body. Where is the pro kit!??

Solara, any chance the left side motor mount could be a stand alone option?

There is a lot of bling in the options section. There goes my budget again.

I'm really enjoying bringing one parts box for F1 and LM classes to the track. This common parts bin really cuts down on clutter.
