Drove mine yesterday but traction was not there so it was all over the place. Need to finish putting all the decals and try to take all the slop out of it. Going to order another body and replicate the real car or wait for paintlabs to do some.

F1 is 21.5....LeMan is testing on 17.5...can't compare. But of both running 21.5...you can tell the different is RUBBER TIRES vs FOAM TIRES...foam always faster.

Eric was running 9.3 lap, 4WD TC 17.5 stock = 8.3

The car looked to have a LOT of potential with foam tires and 17.5. Eric had not done a whole lot of set up work and the tires had not been trued. On trued tires and some time to develop the set-up these things should be rockets.

also, fastest TC laps were sub 8 seconds, not that it matters.

I have no experience with foam tires but how do you prep or do you apply anything at all? Anyone can give or post sort of a set up or some sort for low traction track?

I put the included grease in the dampers went with 27.5 shock oil and included spring.

1> apply Paragon from the white bottle, "FXII", let soak in , usually 10 -20 minutes

2> apply sunscreen over the Paragon, and let set until race. Wipe tires clean before you heat.

I would first run it with no additive to see if it has good grip. If not I would apply full additive to the rear and 1/4 to the front. Then increase additive to the front as you need it. If you add too much too soon you could traction roll.

RobK,
Is there a particular brand/SPF/whatever preferred? I am serious in this question. I was out of RC for about 10 years and I recall that some folks have preferences.

White paragon is for rubber and black is for foam tire.

Come on now. :-) I got a few 8.9's. Traction roll seems to be the issue now. I went with wide links at the front and CRC green springs at the pod. Change the rear tube to 300k and lengthend the shock by 3mm in the center hole. You will have to use a 2mm shim under the shock ball at the battery holder
It's better.

did you traction roll with or without sauce? these tires seem pretty soft already. another option is to true the tires to a lower mm.

I just use generic 50 spf. White paragon is typical for asphalt but when it starts to get cold black can may work better.

I have done it both ways. I settled on no sauce for the front and full for the rear. Ride height is a little high as well, so we will work on that sometime today.

At this point, tire wear seems to be minimal on carpet, it may be higher on asphalt.

For me, I always try and emphasize try, to run the kits as supplied first. It is hard to get someone to "buy" into a class when you tell them, "oh, by the way...", plus, I like the challenge

Smile Speed Passion LM-1

Hi, Just got my body yesterday and had very minor problems in fitting it to
my Tamiya F104. I used Tamiya front bumper used in their Le Mans cars and
just spaced the mounting post a little farther apart. Also had to move the
antenna mount to make it easier for the exit hole. Presently painting Silver, Gun Metal Gray, and black and will use the Audi Bilstein Livery as they are the only decals I can get that I like. Will Post photos as soon as I get my tires. I am off
about 2mm on the wheelbase but it still will look good. Regards
Norman
