Where to buy.
Well I bit the bullet ordered one of these as a Christmas present so hopefully should be here this week and I can begin building next week
Oop's rookie mistake, I didn't read all pages and I didn't order the V2 shocks, so looks like ill run the V1 until I need to order something more. But did order 2spring sets and the alloy caster mount and enough spares at least to get me started.
I have my Yokomo YRF very dialed at the moment on most tracks, but just was looking to try something a little different, and the new X-ray isn't that revolutionary so I figured ill try this
Ill head to Walters this weekend to pick up the SpeedPassion Carbon steering arms and axle (another bonus is parts are a short drive away)
Will be interesting to see how this goes on our bumpy mostly low grip track.

Sadly my IFS was delayed from RCmart due to china new year holidays, and didn't arrive until 2 nights ago, also sadly I didn't have time to install due to being at racing that night then having to drive down 3 hours for a practices day for the ACT state titles in 3 weeks time, so ill stick with the existing front end until after the titles now
But I did get a few minutes before heading off to install the longer Tamiya Servo horn and set up the servo, and I am super impressed, certainly feels much better mid corner, not as much push. If you cant get hold of the Exotek Xray servo extender, try this.
My practice day mostly went to plan, but stupid me over tightened the servo screw when I first installed it, so it wasn't allowing the horn to re centre, with even the slightest knock or running over a curb it would throw the centre just slightly off. Lesson learnt... was great once I figured out what was going on.
Moral of the story get the xray servo saver and Exotek extender if you can, or don't over tighten a Tamiya one. oops.
RandR they can only be purchased along with spares from rcart in Japan, but shipping only takes 4-6 days.

Sorry, I only ran my SJ on asphalt so far. It was the Exotek F1R2 with IFS that I ran on carpet.

Steering blocks are it for Tamiya but other items are needed. You will need either 104 kingpins or a pr of 3x35 flat head screws with nuts. You will also need the exotek upper arms. I would highly recommend getting either their upgraded damper parts or a pro of v2 street jam shocks as well, the stock damper plungers are garbage.

Yep, just use street jam Longneck ballstuds and space them from the tower few mm. You'll be limited to a max of 8deg caster and unable to use the most laid down position on the tower but neither of those limitations should be an issue. If you have the old style exotek upper arm plastic parts like I do you will need to shave them for clearance too.
