Well I'm pleased to say that a new chassis has restored my confidence in the Street Jammer.

Got a new chassis plate in the mail today and tonight the car has been built up as close to Hara's setup as possible and it's all good. No tweak and easy to setup all round.

Hope to give it a run this weekend. Couple of things I'd like to clarify with those running from Hara's setup for asphalt medium grip.

1. Hara setup shows front end on 200mm inserts yet gets a measurement of 192.5mm? Is this correct
2. The setup shows toe in on the front of 1 degree. Ive also run toe out to help with straight line stability and initial turn in. Anyone running the toe in and if so any thoughts of one over the other.
3. What spurs are you running. I normally run 48p. Its a tight fit running 66 Spur and 29 pinion with the unknown brand I have. Any suggestions.

Thanks

Yep I noticed that on mine as well, with the mounts used towards the outside hole it will be about 192-195.

Go toe out

I am also running a 66/30 and yep its a super tight fit. I have some Zenon 64P about to go in to give me some more range for larger tracks, I think I got 82 and 84T spurs.

Thanks
hope that helps

On carpet, my F1R2 with IFS was easy to drive but I don't think I had much advantage, if any to the traditional front end setup. This is just my opinion, and I consider myself to be an average racer. Outdoor asphalt season starts up soon at my local track, so we'll see how how the SJ does.
Have you tried the IFS on the street jam on carpet? Would like to try it out.

Default ifs

I've tried the ifs on several cars including the street jam on carpet and although it was easy to drive it was never as quick as a conventional front end.

Thanks mtveten,is there a way to get rid of the rear steering? What about different pod angle? Anyone tried that? ANY comments or suggestions greatly appreciated.I'm super happy with the car but a little more is going to hurt someone else's feelings.

if i remember correctly mounting the links on the top of the rear pod with a 1mm shim under the upper deck link will result in zero rear steer. The stock setting though rotates much better through the middle of the corner.

The stock settings is under the the top of the rear pod right? If you rise or lower the angle of the rear links will affect traction like rising or lowering the shock in a conventional f1?

Yes the stock setting is on the underside of rear pod. The pod link angle doesn't work like touring shocks, it changes how car rolls. Lowering the rear link will cause the chassis roll to slightly increase the outer wheelbase and shorten the inner wheelbase creating a rear steering effect. Roll the rear pod with the different link positions and bottom plate gaps change as a link straightens

Have not tried out the SJ with IFS on carpet yet. Carpet season is ending here soon but hopefully I can squeeze in one more race until the fall. I'll be testing out the SJ IFS this weekend on asphalt.

I started with the battery in front and found a higher rear weight bias to produce better steering into the corner. The streetjams pod design doesnt produce as much weight transfer as a conventional setup.
