Really nice. But Im trying to get it working with a GroupC body and 4 or 6s combo.
Like those bodys though. What are they and where to get them?

Ok, sounds nice. But why Inboxing? Better this info comes up to show some new thinking and ideas about electric track RC cars. I just love new thinking and chit chat about ideas and theorys.

I see my friend. But as the worst enemy to electric track cars and high speed outdoors is high ampdraw/heat, more people with some sort of thinking outside the box would be happy to get new ideas etc. Me myself have tried different suicide projects in boating and high speed cars. And I know what takes to get this working.
In my world everyone reading this thread about the 747e would be grateful for every info there is about it. But if some are into what recommended specs say, they can read on. Or not, as there is nothing new about it coming.
As per the 966e model, 4s and a heavy 1/8 track car. Now they released the 977e with 6s as a recommendation. A step in the right direction, but not enough in my world. Minimum 8s in a 1/8 car takes to get it in the right direction.
Cudos though for Serpent to release such cars. They have always been in the front of new thinking in RC hobby.

Yeah, I was looking at the 977e, I considered buying one and going with a 12s set up. But that would require a kotronics esc or something similar to handle the stupidly insane power, not to mention an airport runway to open it up—which I don't have access to.
As for the 747e project, I had heating issues when I tried a 4s on a 550 4700kv motor. Gearing was the key there; for as soon as I jumped a tooth on the pinion from 27 to 28 (55 spur) magic ghost rose from the esc. But with a 1/8 motor, I don't really have much heating issues, and thats with a 35t pinion and a 6s.

You know and I know, that you want just a little more top speed by feeding the system with higher voltage. The main reason is to get a cooler system and longer runtimes.
As per the 747 setup with 4s and 4700 motor. U know u are at nearly 70000rpm in that setup? And with that gear setup you are about 115mph warp speed. Then I understand your problem with heat issues. Anyway, silly numbers for track racing.
Of course just theoretically numbers, but anyway... What motor make did u use for this?
And what 1/8 motor did you use?
What batterys?
Links plz.
Thx.P
