Can someone explain to me ROAR battery voltage rules?

I'm trying to figure out what the rules are supposed to be for lipo batteries in 1/10 touring car sedan racing. I read through the roar rulebook, and from what I have gathered you can't have more than 8.400 volts in your battery at the beggining of a race. It also states that if you are over 8.400 you are disqualified from that round.

However I have been told that at the last reedy race it was announced that the maximum battery voltage is 8.44 and that if you are found to be over voltage you just need to go to the pits and discharge your pack down before the start of the race. I was also told that this same rule was applied at the tamiya TCS race.

Can anyone give me some information on this?

Thanks

Not every race follows roar rules.
Not every tech's meter is the same.
Adjust your voltage to there meter.

Simple enough I suppose. I just figured there might be some sort of standard.

Most places follow either 8.4 or 8.44 to allow for fluctuations. Good idea to check which rules may apply with your race venue in advance.
