    I get that one can develop an eye for these settings, but one first needs to calibrate their eyes to something. thus the need to communicate settings with numerical values.

    maybe someone can correct if I am mistaken, but I don't see a place (or need) for a shim just yet. the alloy steering block is fixed on the kingpin with a setscrew. the droop can be controlled by where the block is fixed on the kingpin. out of the box, the spring produces no droop, it will need to sack a little before there is any droop to deal with.

    if you were using the old oldskool steering block and the kingpin with e-clips that locate the block, then shimming out droop (or refreshing the springs) could be needed.

    edit: Ha! it just hit me that you may have been asking for guidance on how much droop, not how to set droop. for now (or until i put in a shorter spring or longer kingpin), the basic assembly has enough preload to have no droop. it did seem a little stiff steering so maybe the springs need to wear in a little?

    Bingo... This is exactly how I am adjusting preload/droop on the New Skool front end. Im only running an eclip on the bottom of the kingpin, under the spring, as well. This makes relubing the kingpin a snap.
  • I just wanted to drop a note in here to let you Rev8 owners know that I have a limited run of 12th scale only rear pod plates for the Rev8. These have ride height adjusters that are lowered 3mm from the standard pod plates. This results in a slight reduction in weight and lower CG. See the attached pic.
