Sad news about Big Jim Greenemeyer
#31

Like many others I've been a 'net' friend of Jim for many years and I've learned a lot from him.
He will be sorely missed and the R/C racing community has lost a great friend.
Rest in Peace Jim

...Hello,This is Don Campbell.Im still in shock over Jims death.Im proud to say that Big Jim was one of the best friends Iv ever had,,,and Im proud to know that Jim considered me a great friend along with Jay Kimbrough,Jay I hope you know Jim thought the world of you.God I miss him so much already.Im just getting back to building and selling motors and Big Jim has been a tremendous help, and I owe him so much.
...Iv been Jims buddy since 1976,,,when I started racing slotcars for Jim.He was so smart about these little DC motors,,,he was the best, trust me,Iv know all the Great motor builders, and lots of them had giant teams and won a lot of races,,,But Jim was a better motor man then all of them.Anyway,,Im crushed, and can't write anymore.I think Jim was only 56yrs old
REST IN PEACE MY DEAR,DEAR FRIEND,,I will always love you buddy,,,I just hope your happier now then you where on this earth,,and I hope to see you again someday.Forever your friend Don Campbell.

Go in peace, Big Jim,
I first met Jim G. back in the slot car days, then again during his brief stay in NJ while working for the big "T". We had many mock arguments over who was the real Big Jim, the other being Big Jim Greenaway of slot car and early RC Motor fame.
Get the track ready for us up there, and try to explain to the big guy that RC Racers need forgiveness as much as all the rest, we will see you soon.

As I said in the other thread...
Oh my god that's terrible... Big Jim will be missed.
Everyone please say a prayer for him, we've certainly lost an R/C legend.

Wow, thats very sad news. Sorta how I felt when I heard Ron Paris passed away. I learned so much from Jims book on motor tuning... he did so much for this hobby!

I met him once while visiting out at socal 5 years ago, and freaquently ask him questions over the net. He always answered any and all questions. Many people and I learned motor tuning from him. Sometimes the greatest guys are the ones that go against the grain, and outspoken. Very smart man, Rest in peace and condolences to his family and friends!

Big Jim was a one-man knowledge base on electric r/c motors. Very helpful to me when I started racing a couple years ago. The man knew everything!
My deepest condolences to his family.
