I'll have 2 of these cars for sale soon, one very low use, one built but new with lundsford turnbuckles. It was built from spares and the only part not new is the steering bellcranks. If bought together I have I think all the springs and swaybars along with many spares to go all together. just waiting on a lhs to make a vbc to get the last couple parts to finish it off.

Can someone post a good starting setup for 17.5 carpet or is the box setup a decent starting point?

Thanks. I think it will help a lot. I'm running the same body and tires. What companies shock oil are you using?

Sorry I should have specified that. Its Mugen 450cst in the front and 400cst in the rear.

I've got a carpet event at the end of the month using foam tyres. 21.5 blinky class.

Anyone have tips on what to setup different compared to rubber tyres?

Thanks

I'm an off road guy who is new to tc's and need some help setting up the downstops on my D06. Could someone give me their downstop numbers with the shocks and sway bars off? I have all the hudy set up stuff, and followed their directions in the book. I am measuring under the side of the front arm where you can see the hinge pin, and under the rear hub with the hudy droop gauge. I have it set up at about 5 on the front and 0 on the rear. Am I measuring correctly, and are my settings way off? Are those the droop numbers that people are putting on their set up sheets, or is that droop measured in mm's by lifting the chassis with the tires on? Also, once I have the the downstops set, should i then make the shock length match that setting?

Thanks!

You don't have to make the shock length match with then down stops. We call them droop screws in Onroad. If you made the shocks match, then there would be no point in the screws. As far as numbers, those don't seem too far off. Most are measuring from the bottom of the outboard hinge pin or the bottom of the axle. It should say in the set up notes where it is being measured from.mmthe Vbc is a little different numbers than most in road cars because of that hoop on the bottom of the rear hub. But if there is nothing in the set up notes I would assume that the bottom of the hub for from and rear is where the droop is being measured.

What is everyone running for a gear ratio for 17.5 carpet? Just looking for a good starting point. Right now I am hearing 4.0 is ok. Just want to get it right and not cook a motor.

Default 21.5 setup on carpet

Out of the team drivers who has a good setup for 21.5 class if one was to copy their setup? Or do somebody have a good setup they would share? Thanks

Has anyone tried the lightweight outdrives and new lightweight aluminum front spool shaft yet? Noticed a difference? I'm thinking of trying those parts to lighten up the drive train for spec racing.
