Another update on the c-hub front. It looks like Square has produced a newer part that has a larger opening to accommodate the DCJ's. Only available in 5 degrees. Square's stuff has always been rock solid in the past. Hopefully these are no exception. I'm going to give them a try.

Maybe you should try a slower class to better yourself, maybe VTA. At least you can hit stuff in that class and still get away with it instead of walking off the track all pissed off.

There is much truth to the adage "Go slow to go fast".

When you get that down, though, you'll find you're just going slow. Gotta get up on the wheel and git 'r done! Board taps happen.

@Syndrome: MHIC doesn't have dots to move the line away from the pipes, does it?

No dots at 5280, it's a very polarizing issue though. We argue about it every few months amongst ourselves. We're due for another meltdown over dots come to think of it.

I expect parts to sometimes break in big crashes.

I do not expect parts to break during the normal taps that anybody fast enough to make the top 10 at a big race is going to encounter. And that's the issue here. Cars can't break on taps. It's simply unforgivable.

If you're not close enough to the boards to tap now and then, they're you're probably some mixer that doesn't really compete at a high level. And that's fine. But please don't presume to understand what those of us trying to get it done at the highest level (outside of paid pro drivers) are trying to accomplish.

Dude, everyone dropped that already. You are the one who keeps bringing it up.

Staying on topic; do you use the metal outdrives with no blades (V5 outdrives)? Maybe running the plastic outdrives (even though they tend to notch) might help dissipate some of the impact? It might be enough to keep you in the race. Worth a shot, no?

Let us know about the Square chubs. Tonight I'm gonna dremel my Square one but I won't have track time on the car for maybe a week and a half. For me the issue is not outdoors at all its the indoor tracks with boards. As Syndrome has said simple taps should not cracked the chubs. I've even gone out for practice and brought the car back wondering what the hell? When did that chub break? I dunno. We'll see next time out.
