are the 6 degree hubs the same height at the kit 418? I was under the impression that the new 418 hubs were lower profile

I didn't bust out the caliper to check it out. I just ended up swapping them out with 6 degree ones. The C-hubs on the car seemed to look identical to the old 4 degree hubs so I just went off of an assumption. I will check it out later unless someone else beats me to it.

Not necessarily, remember the steering knuckles are new now. They could have just made the steering knuckles bigger. I guess someone needs to bust out the calipers.

Oh boy if that is the case and if the new C-hub or knuckles on the 418 do that, I am so replacing the knuckles/hubs on my 417 so I don't have to deal with spacers

Yes as JimmyMac said the 417/418 knuckles are the same height, just the 6 deg c-hub is .7mm lower negating the need for the shim. 418 with new knuckles and 4 deg hubs still has the shim

I'm not aware of you guys knowing that tamiya has a solution for the problem with the 0.7mm spacer between the C-hub and the steering knuckle.
Just use the 54490 option part and you don't need that spacer thing at all.

I've got those in my 418 at the moment, they work with 4 deg c-hubs but haven't tried with 6 deg yet.

They wont fit with the 6 deg chubs... (since you do away with the .7 shim anyway...

Maybe the .7 shim should go on top of the chub to retain the camber link height when switching to tje 6deg chub

Nope, the TB04 manual is wrong. The 6 deg hubs still need the shim even on the tb04

When I built it there was loads of movement until I fitted the 0.7mm shim. I have since bought the carbon re-enforced 6 deg hubs to fit on my 418 I will try to measure them as they will be stiffer than the GRP ones that were packaged with the TB04 pro.
