This is the track I race at (not me in the clip):

Just checked my pinion size, it is 28T with the 116T spurgear. That gives a 7.664 gearing.

Thanks for the input.

For sure gear up until you have some speed
Then adjust FLow to have more rapid acceleration
If you add a lot of boost with the Flow, you can also go down by 1 or 2 pinion, but only if things get hot
Normally with a mod motor, you have the option of too much power everywhere, it's just about fine tuning to suit for a consistent pace

The last time we had no closer look on his Chassis or some Setup Sheets. Very mysterious, the last time

How does that Samix aluminum chassis perform on carpet or asphalt (17.5)? Is it better at one over the other?
My chassis is getting beat up underneath when going on asphalt, wondering if this aluminum chassis would be able to better handle that.

I ran it for the first time in practice on carpet this past Sunday. It was pretty consistent and I was able to match my lap times when I ran the kit chassis for practice 2 weeks ago. I would say it's more consistent and seems to like softer springs for 17.5. Stock chassis was 69g. Samix aluminum was 100g. It's super thin and stood up to some good kits when I forgot about the "kink" in the chicane. Square Aluminum chubs also head up very good too.

What would be a good FDR with the 418. 13.5 blinky fairly small high grip carpet track?
We use 4.0 in 21.5 blinky at same track
