Default 21.5 motor choice, looking for opinions

RC Mart have a whole bunch of motors etc on sale at the moment. I'm looking for an opinion/guidance on the best 21.5 motor out of Tekin, Hobby wing Xerun and Speed Passion V3?

Thanks guys

I would go for the tekin, because of it's the only one with adjustable timing, wich are nice if u plan to run it in blinky... If it's boosted u are going to run I would go for the SP or HW motor...

For racing in a 21.5 blinky class, I wouldn't choose any of those motors. They are not known to be very competitive in that class. They aren't "bad", just not as quick as some others. If you are still just learning to keep the car off the boards, any of them will do fine. If you are near the top of the pack, you won't be very happy with those choices.

What would be some options you would recommend?

The new HW v10 motors are nice and fast but lack a bit of torque. I feel as if they're meant to run on a large open flowing track.

I'd look at the revtechs, d3.5s, or the reedy motors.

The 21.5's we run in F1's are Shuurspeed.
We use the stock rotor and 35-40* of timing.
With the correct gearing, lots of rip and top speed and after 15 minutes around 135-140*.

I run trinity on all of my cars. I tried the the D3.5 21.5 and did not like it. I switched to a Thunder power 21.5 and it is fast. I first used it in my F1 and now my USGT sedan and its faster then the guys running the 3.5.

For F1 , the milder the bottom End the better, but you'll need top End Rpm .... All the spec 21.5t motors are sort of equal in Performance, but not in feel... I like the Novak Ballistic's decent Performance and feel.....

Tekin ???
HW Xerun ???

SP V3 better for long outdoor tracks. You will want the 30-40* timing board ideally. The SP MMM motor with the same board has the feeling of massive rip, and feels great on carpet. Might not be so hot if you don't have a lot of traction

Trinity D3.5 21.5 is not like the 17.5. Not very fast. I have not seen a real fast one yet.

Novak Ballistic 21.5 is actually a good F1 motor, not a crazy bottom end and not a crazy top end, pretty balanced, but fast. The old SS motors are very similar. The Vulcan 21.5 motors I have watched at the track so far are crazy fast. We had a guy using them at the Scale Nats and his GT car was ripping fast all weekend.

Thunder power definitely fast but you have to gear it a little different. When I tried one I had to go up a few teeth vs. a Novak.

Have not tried the Shuurspeed, but I heard good reports.

The older Reedy is also a motor I hear a lot of good things about. I picked up a Sonic Mach 2 based on that, and I have only run it a couple times, but it seems good as anything so far.
