The advice of what to wear control to zero.
It is important that the regulator be quick.
Formula 1 RCcar speed passion should be V3 21.5T engine.
Momentum going and the short twisty tracks.

U might want to go back and read this entire thread... Vulcan seems to be a very quick gt motor.. Also the orca Tx seems to be a good performer as well .

Actually today
Round 2 qualifier
Matt L. FL 11.555 Novak Vulcan T3 2012 3.8fdr max timing (edge of sticker )(tc tires)
Justin L. FL 11.557 Shuur speed T3 2012 3.7fdr 45+- timing (past 40mark)(xpattern)
Miron K. Fl 11.562 Reedy sonic Ae 6.1 3.8 FDR 50+timing (xpatern)
Miron did run a 11.4 in 3rd round. But me and Matt both has car issues so we might have been able to run faster as well .
Also the schuur speed didn't like running with timing past the last mark . it got really hot and power faided 1/2 thru run ...
The Vulcan came off about 125 each round(internal temp inside stator opening) no faid all day .
Pretty sure the reedy guy didn't feel much faid either but his is a 9month old motor and did come off warmer (150+-)

2012 NSW Titles
2013 ACT Titles
+various other events

Trinity Revtech 21.5 standard rotor
67-68 rollout (assuming 64mm Tyre diameter)
Full timing on can (the last notch, not as far as the timing will rotate)
as long as you are smooth driver and drivetrain is free this should last you 6 months of club + events but motor will eventually smoke (no real warning) I have fried three so far which is a shame,

Pity that Trinity is no longer making the revtech, hopefully they will release the killshot in 21.5,

Did some more testing yesterday at track .
I retired the schuur speed motor . it begins to fade about 3-4 min in lap times Xray from 11.4 to 12.2 running 33/90 in a xray with timing a tick past 40'.
The Novak still is going strong its also running 11.405 second laps but can still make 11.5 sec laps in the end of race its geared 45/92 with timing at edge of sticker .
But for hot lap of the day was a (I think ) a trinity D3 ..
He ran same car running 11.25 sec laps up front with 11.5 sec laps at end of race .
So theirs a another to consider

Hi all I hear the ORCA TX 21.5 has geen recently approved but doesn't appear on ROAR list.
Can anyone confirm approvalhas been completed?

Not sure how large of a track you run, but most run at 2mm past the + mark at about 3.6-3.8 on an indoor track.

21.5 ORCA TX is ROAR approved. I used it at 2 large events that only allow ROAR approved motors.

I have been running a ShurSpeed 21.5 in my USGT car. I am down to a 3.38 FDR at The Gate with USGT spec tires. Timing is set at 40 and the motor temp after 8 minutes was 127. Track was fast and flowing with 9.5 fast laps and a 9.8 just a couple of laps from the end. That motor has monster torque. I tested it on the Fantom Dyno and the .1 sec rpm was almost 4500 the D3.5 with a high torque rotor only hits 3800 at the same point. For those of you not familiar with the test, the motor is plug started at 5v from zero with a flywheel on the shaft. The Fantom records the rpm and amp draw at .1 second intervals for a little over 2 seconds. Obviously the motor that accelerates the flywheel quicker has more torque. The software does calculate torque, watts output and efficiency. Those are the only two 21.5 motors I have tested.

I am quite partial to the ORCA motors, the amount of torue they develop is 2nd to none.

Turnigy Trackstar 21.5, yeah it's a cheapy at $32-$33 but it's roar legal and it's FAST! First time out with run I set lap and track records for 21.5 and had people checking my car, motor, esc, weight etc to make sure it was legal it was that quick. Plus you can gear it to the moon (very high torque) and if you smoke it, $33 is easier to swallow than $90-$100
