Hey guys, to lower the FDR with the 39t bevel gears on the diff, all i need are 2 Tamiya 51255?
Can i use the Tamiya 54125 - front spool on a Tb04?

Cadman, I think the tb03 spool works but there is also a tb04 specific spool

Raman, the shock caps and its threads are shorter than the old trf shocks

Hi

I just pick up the Carbon reinforced lower deck...
Question: will it make difference if I change my stock lower chassis over to carbon reinforced chassis?
our out door track is med grip and medium size track...

What's the TB04 spool part#? or is it the one way?

Didn't answer how people are putting the 39t gears in the kit...

Before you run it, can you put a straigh edge on it and see if it's straight? My kit one was impossibly warped.

And, it appears Tamiya is listening....new for august..

You can use the TB03 front spool with the TB04 ring gear. You have to add shims for the width.

The TB04 oneway set is actually both. it's a oneway that you can put pins with a rubber oring to lock into a spool. I have it and it is fairly heavy.

Go with the TB03 direct coupler (spool). I haven't needed a one way in a lot of years.

But what about lowering the car's IR? I'm going through the thread, i keep reading about putting 39t gears on the diffs, but i can't find part numbers

Update: http://www.rctech.net/forum/12737953-post340.html - Post 340 mentions the bevel gear from the TB03 one way, can that gear be purchased separably?

Update 2: Part #51255 (39t Evo5 one way gear) bolts right up to the gear diff - Post 351 - http://www.rctech.net/forum/12762006-post351.html

#54592 is the number for the tb04 specific spool, that has 40t ring gear

If your going to change the gear to 39t, might as well get the tb03 spool diff and use shims to make up the space. You can purchase the tb03 gears seperately too #51255

You can achieve an fdr of 2.29 by using #51109 (17t/39t), you will have to remove the lip on the bevel gear so you can fit the e-clip

no it cant be avoided
the picture makes it look worse than it is. should have cleaned the dust off
before the picture
use quality 400 no-fill sandpaper on a piece of glass, like doing
a ball diff rings. takes 10 min or so of careful circular sanding and a jeweller's file, 3mm to open up the hole so the shaft fits just.
