Can anyone tell if these new diffs will fit a evo5?

We can only hope... That would mean that they would fit the TB03 and people with that car would be very happy as well. It looks like if they do fit, you would need the pinion gear as well. Only thing that makes me thing this will NOT work is that they made a new ball diff and spool and are not using the tb03 ones... We might have to wait a month to find out. Unless someone on the board gets one early.

I've been considering this as something a bit "different" to try but I don't think you will get any where near the ratios we need for 17.5 blinky or slower. Internal ratio is 2.5:1 and the pinion is surrounded by that crescent spacer - looks like a limited-gearing contender only (I'll armchair-engineer a lower limit of 5.2:1!!!).

and with the TB-03.... i've gotten down to 3.4 last I recall.
but you're right, this is a concern.

Looks like this car will come with a 66t spur gear. I am not sure what the width is for a 66t spur to convert that to 64p but I am sure someone knows.

Hmmm. Assuming that pic is an 66T = 88T in 64p, then I'd be needing about a 52-55T pinion. Wonder of that will fit. The mounting holes on that blue mount are very wide, so large pinions should fit. That big though??? We might need the first purchaser to do some measurements.
Also not too sure about going back to a ball diff after using an oil filled gear diff for the last couple of years.

"Metric 48dp" doesn't exist. It's like saying a centimetre is a "metric inch".
0.6mod is around 42dp equivalent, so a 66 spur in 0.6 is about 75 in 48dp, which in turn in about 100 in 64dp.

whats the advantage with shaft drive over belt drive?
all i can see is so far is your limited in spur and pinion choice.
