Yes it is not a bad car but certainly not the best one,not like the great 416 used to be.
I think that if a car doesn't allow you to find the best set-up, because this is the matter, isn't a good car. But I think that the major problem in this championship were the tires, with which the tamiyas don't have a good relationship (personally tested)

The fact that Alex went from middle of the pack to damn near the top with the new car shows a lot about the new car. Congrats to him and the rest of the x ray team.

I was surprised by the way Hagberg left everybody in A3 ! Just wondering if he went faster then in A1 and A2.

I'm also wondering if he ran this car in the last round of ETS.

No. It was not quite the same car he ran at the ETS race he said.

Certainly is encouraging for the XRay camp. What's the next major race on the calendar? Anything before IIC?

Marc's Facebook said he was looking forward to ETS starting again, but didn't mention IIC.

Thats kinda strange. The first ETS race is the first weekend of Nov and on Carpet. Not sure why he would be looking forward to that! LOL I would figure he will be at IIC but you never know. Especially since they wont be able to make it next year since ROAR and the host of the worlds screwed that pooch.

Results are here

Looks like A3 was the slowest time of the three finals, 3 secs slower than A2, and 4-5 slower than A1. A lot of the field were slower, so maybe track went away, or they all decided not to run fresh rubber

I think Marc was referring to the fact that ETS doesn't have the political bull that goes with a EFRA race meet and the outdated rules as well.

Also fb is full of drivers complaining about EFRA and all the BS about the rules, The worlds wil be fun I think

Don't start the argument about EFRA. It leads nowhere.
The same people were complaining about the previous EFRA and IFMAR events were quantity of allowed sets was limited, as many drivers opted to sit out some qualifying runs in order to use their new sets under ideal conditions.
So in the end nobody is ever satisfied and all complain.
Not once has anyone ever considered how these events are run and how many people work really hard for some case zero profit.
Also EFRA and its rules are made through democratic voting, all countries have their representatives who meet at the annual general meeting, AGM, and they vote how the rules should be written. So if you are not happy with the current rules, ask your country's representative what he voted for, if he even attended the AGM in the first place, and I say that because there are many absent countries during these meetings.
Also behind the people who complain and want to de-value EFRA are some specific reasons they do so..

Been thinking about your comment.
You do see a lot more of the other manufactures at most big meetings, despite Tamiya's obvious success.
Perhaps Tamiya have decided that their outlay in TC is not paying dividends when it comes to sales of the product.

We still don't know if they've definitely pulled out of TC, it's still just rumour, but the few guys I know who do run Tamiya have mentioned that it's also getting more difficult to get spares (They order them from the Far East).
Coincidence

Everybody that ignores this is a fool. Read the forums on here closely and you will see the drivers are looking mainly for cheep chassis spec-r, CSO ... How much can you save on one chassis, 100$/?? And now consider running new tires every run ... I can tell you for the majority it's a problem to spend money on two new sets per race!

It surely isn't the only factor but a big one for sure.

Everything is related to money these days. In Europe the numbers of drivers decrees and that's a fact. In our country there were 30+ drivers per race now we are 5-6 racers left. Same thing at our neighbor counties since I was driving there also!

ETS is another story. In Europe the distance between states is not as big and a lot of drivers can join (you can drive with a car) + the atmosphere is not so dense there and two sets for every racer

In this sport you need the masses of average drivers that support the company's with their money if the people won't spend it could be the end for some for sure. This is not like in real racing where the professional teams compete against each other.
