Default Removing GRP 1/8 tires(and shrinking them?)

I had an accident where a 1:1 ran over my 1:8 GT onroad car. I had the GRP tires that come pre-glued to the wheels. After the mishap, I had two broken/warped wheels, so I stored them in acetone to remove the tires. The tires have been removed, but one of them is now larger on one side. It's warped like a tire that was made to fit a short-course type of wheel. Is there a way to shrink or restore the tires back to how they were?

Also, I read somewhere that GRP tires have a slightly different rubber than other brands... is this true? If so, did I make a mistake by using acetone to remove them?

What should I have used?

To shrink them, I'm trying to boil the tires, at the moment, but it's not looking promising.

acetone and some types of tires do not work. the acetone just break down the rubber on a molecular scale. just throw them away...
