I've seen people drive $150 Spec-R sedans faster than anyone, so it's not all about having the right car.

Remember, the car is only doing what the driver tells it to. If you don't know how to drive fast, it won't matter what you're running.
I will admit that I was being a bit over the top to make a point - First I will agree that the 417 is a competitive car for the normal club racer and did not mean to make it sound otherwise.

But... my point is that the Tamiya drivers have changed some pretty major components on the car; chassis, top deck, belts, and motor mount to non-Tamiya parts and are now back at the top of their game which is great for racing. But if you want to run the same setups as Mark and follow the team drivers to try and get better you have to spend a fair amount of money buying a 417 and then the Raceberry conversion. Most other manufacturers you can follow their setups with the kit and some company upgrades.

Again apologies if I annoyed anyone with my comments.

As a Tamiya fan, I'd like Marc to take back the crown from the Yokomo boys. But it's just fun and games so good luck to everyone.

Volker appears to be stomping everyone in timed practice so far.
.4s per lap faster than Rheinard, and 0.5s per lap faster than Hagberg.

Only Volker and Prumper have managed sub 18s laps.

Looking at the heat list a lot of people seem to be running 2 transponders, unless I misunderstood something.

If the Tamiyas are struggling to find steering, imagine how the XRays feel.

Aint no different than when AE used to kick the Tamiya guys butts at the Tamiya track at the Reedy race. Some guys are just that much better than others right now. Put Ronald in an Xray, Tamiya or any other car with Umino working on it and the same result will come out. Him on top or top 2.

Xray will sell cars regardless of if they win this race or dont even make the top 20.

Yea I talked to Alex last night and he said that all but the Yokomo's were struggling with a push. He said was was weird that his push was worse on New tires and said on Used tires he thought he had the best car. But he's been there before too at Gran Canaria this year and last year. His car was way better than others on used tires but not so good on new tires. I guess we will know for sure after round 2 of qualifying.

Cool

Would be nice to see RV finally pop his ETS Asphalt cherry this weekend for Yokomo
Been a long time coming, and he seems to have the car to do it
What's even cooler, is that's it's essentially the same car anyone can buy off the shelf
