T4 or 417v5
Time for a new car, I drove a 417x last week it was enlightening to me how much corner speed the 417 has. I love Xray so I was going to get T4/14 but after driving a 417 I am at a cross roads? I really like how hard the 417 rolls the corner. I am test driving a T4 this week so I was wondering what are your thoughts?

Finding out if a car is for you takes time to play with setup to see if you can set it up for your driving style. A test drive with an RC car will tell you nothing except for how well that particular setup works for you.
Both are good cars. But both are different in certain areas as far as how they chose to design their car. I'd suggest looking through the instruction manuals on how the cars are built and see if one appeals to you more than the other.

I am on board with the 417 V5 . It is an awesome car and you definitely will not be disappointed. I know the first time I went out with the car box stock I took the podium without an issue. Tamiya build quality is extremely high and the tuning ability on the car rocks.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any additional questions about the car. I would be more than happy to help out.

I know both cars are quality racecars but each cars have there perfomance sweet spot. I like a car that carries momentom out of the corners. I brake early an power mid corner out. To me when i drove the Tamiya 417 it did that better then any car I've driven. My xray dives into the corner very well but i have to wait on it on exit. To me it squares the corner. When i drove the 417 it rounded the corner and the power could be applied sooner.

I'm positive there's nothing you can do setup wise to make a T4 feel like a 417. And vice versa. The cars are at two different ends of the spectrum handling wise. The 417 is deadly outside in the right hands, especially with the Raceberry stuff. On the rug, T4, no question.

v5 Brian.
PS: I'm pretty sure Justin's car is a 417 not a 417x. You can get a 417 with gear diff II for $399 from the Tamiya USA website.
