Default Protoform 190mm bodies...need input

Hey guys,

thanks in advance for any input. A local carpet on-road track is opening soon and it's been YEARS since I have raced any on-road so I want some opinions on TC bodies from Protoform. The local track will most likely be ozite with a tight layout..so...

What would a good choice be... P37-R, Speed6, LTCR, R9-R

MazdaSpeed 6 is the default choice for carpet. Good balance, and good stability. The LTC-R also works for some people, but it's definitely more aggressive, and will depend on your driving style. Personally, I found the best overall setup and consistently fast laps using the Speed 6. The LTC-R could rotate really, really well around the hairpins, but I made more mistakes with it. I had to add 0.5* front camber and lower the inside of my front links 0.5mm to get the front end bite with the Speed 6, compared to what I had been getting with the LTC-R.

Most people seem to think the R9-R is just way too aggressive, but I've never tried it, personally.

I've tried the P37, but haven't done a proper back-to-back test with the Speed 6 or LTC-R. The car wasn't working well, and neither was I, last time I tried it. Most of the fast guys in my area say it just sucks at everything.

I run the P37 on carpet and really like it. Car feels really stable and has plenty of steering. I tried the mazda6 when I first got into sedan and didnt care for it, car felt a little unsettled (this was when I was first getting in so I was more aggressive/abrupt with inputs as well).

One of the local guys has run basically all the bodies and likes the LTC-R (Lexus) and just keeps coming back to it after running all the other bodies.

Bottom line is it comes down to personal preference.

Get a Speed 6 and be done with it. But whatever you end up with, be sure to get the light weight version.

Start with a 6 and go from there... the LTC-R is a little more aggressive if that is what you like.
