ok who can help me this time? quick motor Q
ok i just got my p2k today and by the looks of it, well lets just say its turning some serious rpms! the only problem is that when i go forward its a little bit slow to start and doesnt have as high of a speed. but when i go backwords it starts up RIGHT away and is about twice as fast as forwards. i tryed switching the + and - on the motor, i soldered the esc wires directly to it but still no help. it seems that if the motor turns clockwise it is super fast and counterclockwise not so fast. the only way my car will go forward is if the motor hits the gear on the driveshaft turning counterclockwise... thus my car only going super fast in reverse. so anyone know what to do? thanks

REVERSE THROTTLE
Try reversing throttle on transmiiter. it may say throttle servo. there should be a reverse feature for the throttle. check you transmitter manual. I have had similar experience.

yeah i did switch that switch back and forth a few times and was messing with that too, its been like an hour sence i did it so i can quiet remember exactly how it went plus it would be hard to explain but when i had the + to + and - to - and pressed the throttle it would go coutnerclockwise and go slow. if i switched the switch on the controller, it would go I THINK... clockwise but still would go backwords. idk its hard to explain but i noticed that there are two soldering spots for + and two for -, so a total of 4 on the motor, two were next to each other on the right side which were + and - and there was the mirror image but on the left side. would it mabey make the difference if i soldered to the + and - on the left side not the right?

ill go look at it some more, but ow could i reset my speed control? i dont think i can? its a duratraz sprint and so far i have loved it and loved it for its price...

You should maybe solder it in correctly... + wire on + side of endbell, - on - side, just in idea.

at the top of the motor.. it'll clearly be labled one side with a + similar to this monster.
as you can see the "right side" is + (being positive) and the other side is negative. wire it up correctly that way.. if your car shoots backwards, reverse your "throttle" on your controller. that means that whole right side is the positive side, and the whole left side is the negative side.. =)
i think the duratrax ESC came on the evaders? i dont remember if it had a reset or set options.. look liek this right?
to PROPERLY setup your duratrax sprint esc, read the manual here:
http://www.duratrax.com/pdf/dtxm1200-manual.pdf
look at part #5 if you want to see how to set it up, (i would read the whole thing to check if you wired everything up right).
good luck.
Good luck.. let us know.
just in case you can't open PDF files... here is the parts that are important:
Problem: Motor runs backwards while forward LEDs are on.
Motor wired backwards.
Problem: Motor runs backwards when forward command is given.
(LEDs match the motor direction.) Put the throttle reversing switch in
the opposite position.
how to reset your ESC
Before you begin this step, your speed control should be plugged into
the receiver and your transmitter should have already been adjusted.
Before you connect the main battery pack to the speed control, make
sure that the ESC switch is turned off. Connect the battery pack to the
speed control and turn on the transmitter. Make sure the throttle
trigger is in the Neutral position before turning on the ESC.
1) With the transmitter throttle trigger in neutral, turn on the ESC. The
green LED will light up for about 1 second.
2) Pull the throttle trigger to full forward, the red LED will light up to
indicate the full forward is now being operated.
3) Push the throttle trigger to full reverse, the green and red LED will
light up to indicate full reverse is now being operated.
4) The ESC will hold this setting until it is reset.
5) Repeat this procedure if any or all steps fail to operate as expected.
(Note: The motor does not function during the set-up process.)
Note: If the throttle is set to full forward on the transmitter and you get
reverse operation instead of forward operation, the throttle-reversing
switch on the transmitter must be switched.

ok guys i tryed everything out, i even took it to my hobby shop and he didnt know what do say. i think ill pay the 10 bucks and he said if he can keep it for a few days he will figure it out. it would be great if something could help right away, but if not ill be off to the hobby shop...
p.s. i might make a tut for how i made my motor faster...
http://motortuningsecrets.com/tunestockmotor.html
exact same thing as this except for the "unfortunate few" like me who arent blessed with money to go buy all the supplys needed to do the stuff in that tut...
mine involved a drill press which i have
tooth paste which i have
cue tips which i had
carb cleaner which i had
and oil/wd40 it will probably be about a month or so befor i do it agian but when i do it a second time ill take pics at every step of the process
