Default Carbon fiber sticker for poly bodies

Looking for something that is sticky on the top side so that it can be put on the inside of the body facing out. Anything out there? If not what are people using on the outside of the body?

One of the reasons CF decal/vinyl works is the texture. Putting adhesive on a textured surface and applying on the inside of a lexan body will just make it look black.

People who wanted that, have come up with a way to airbrush it w/ black and silver colors.

XXXmain makes a CF inner decal. Looks pretty slick.

I like the natural look of semi-gloss. Stands out better of carbon fiber.

I've had great success with the 3D carbon fiber vinyl from metromods (I believe) on eBay. It's top notch quality and reasonably priced. I've made 3 cf hoods and a trunk out of one 12"x12" sheet for my 1/10 bodies. Looks and feels real, is easy to work with and very adhesive when heated with a blow dryer.

Does it go on the inside or outside?

You can also go for tamiya smoke paint and then apply aluminum reinforcement tape from the inside. It will give you a very nice carbon effect... Once done you can use the Mat paint from Tamiya to make it more realistic

An exemple:

The important point here is that you will get a real 1/10th carbon effect with fiber at the right scale...

It applies to the outside, but it's so thin and sticks so well when heated you can't even tell unless you really look at it close up.

I've used 3M DiNoc on the outside. Pretty durable and easy to apply with some heat and stretching. (altho not quite scale)

There's also the CF sheet made by F1Paintlabs. The F1 guys use it to cover the side pontoons of F1 bodies, wings, etc. CF decal

So just an FYI. I got the stuff I needed from xxxmain. Kind of a weird site though. No confirmation that the order went through and no reply when I emailed them. Also no answer of the phone when I called but my card was charged and the sheet showed up so it's all good in the end.
