Default What makes a pan car a pan car ?

I am lookin to get into carpet racing. I have thought of getting a M03 Mini , Mirco RS4 . The mini's are hard to find and only offer few body styles and the micro is useless to me since i can't use my batteries or radio gear with it . SO ... I found out about 1/12 Pan Cars . What is different about them in terms of handling , durability ??? Compared to the above listed cars . Can the handle just as well even though they are only 2wd and have limited adjusablitly ? I figure they maybe the cheapest way to get started in carpet racing let me know . THanks
OH ! and can i use regular stick pack batteries , I don't mind if I have to convert them to saddles packs , OR do I have to use those that are used for micros ? same goes with the servos and rx ?

theres two kinds of pan, on road and oval. on road is pretty popular. you can use regular size electronics expect u need a mini servo. most 12th scales now use 4 cell saddle packs and a few like the crc carpet knife uses 4 cell stick or side by side. for adjustability, its not limited. there many ways to tune 12th scales. if ur planning to be racing or competitive these cars are great! dont waste ur money on 1/18th micros.
