Hello to all my IIC brethren. I wanted to give everyone an update on some things. I first want to again welcome back our Title Sponsor Jaco as they they continue their support for the 9th year.

I also want to welcome back our Gold sponsor Tekin for another year. Jim and the team will again be in full force to showcase their products and help the racers get all dialed in for their run towards the championship. Thanks to these sponsors for believing in the IIC and their years of support.

Entries are looking really good. we are at 176 entries as of today. Of course more entries will come as summer comes to a end, but these numbers are up from last year and that is always good. More news will be coming as everything gets confirmed for our handout classes and we get closer to another great run in Vegas at the IIC.

It is great to see everyone very excited for another great time in Vegas. Thanks to Kraig for keeping you guys update on things while I am "Where is Waldo" around the world with my events.

Spec GT system is not set yet as we are still working out everything, but we will again do a spec ESC and Motor. 2 new bodies have been added to the list. The Protoform Lexas and Camaro have been added to the approved body list. Protoform has supported the IIC since the beginning and we are happy to add their cool new bodies to the Spec GT list.

D3.5 motors. This is has obviously been a difficult situation for everyone involved and I wanted to let everyone know how it will be for the IIC. We will not be allowing any of the D3.5 motors. I feel this will be best for the IIC event.

RC SPEED: The room rate is for 2 persons in a room, you should not get an extra charge for a 2nd person. Now if you are going to have 3 or 4 in a room, they will charge you, Just dont tell them you will have extra in a room. You will only get 2 keys, but that is what you have to do. If they are charging you more for 2 people, please email me your confirmation info and I will get right on it. [email protected]

That is the latest and greatest and will keep you guys updated as things progress.

Thanks,
Scotty

It's going to be a good race this year.

I will at least have the benefit of experience this time, but that means I also have a longer shopping list.

DESERT RAT: Experience can be a good thing, but also bad. Either way, get that shopping list taken care of. See you in Vegas.

EA. Thats not you. You are always fully prepared and ready to go when you arrive.

Ahhh. Vegas baby. just talking about it gets me pumped up. Walking through the casino and hotel and seeing all the racers is awesome! Some have been up all night and they will still be there when we crack the doors at 7am.

Good times for sure.

Banning all d3.5, wow! I was under the impression that only 17.5 was banned per roar and everyone's suggestions on here said the 13.5 is legal. Just got a new d3.5 13.5 for my first iic and now is useless to me. Still bnip. Anyone else have the same issue as me

Okay, we need to get some rules in stone. Don't really think it's fair to be changing up the rules after we've registered. Some of us, myself included, have already purchased motors or have been practicing with them. I purchased two D3.5 13.5s in the last month. To change them after the fact doesn't sound right to me. I know that "I" can afford to buy another motor. But what about the other racers that can't afford to purchase another motor? Why are we all of a sudden banning all D3.5s? For a race this big, I know some people that have to budget out several months ahead of time.

In hindsight, maybe registration should not have opened until rules were set in place or not registered until the rules were set in place. Before the D3.5 17.5 motor made it back onto the ROAR approved list, I picked up some other 17.5 motors to avoid something like this. Never did I imagine that the 21.5 and 13.5 motors would run into this issue. Not once on this thread nor any other threads did I read that the 21.5 and 13.5 motors were not legal.

So, Scotty..... what's the good word! I'd really love to know the reasoning behind this ban. If I missed something then apologies are due. Not mad...just a little frustrated.
