with this fan set up i ran a 8.49 on my Cyclone (4.5) and it came of the track at 161 degrees.(it was really fast!!) I may use that for the Regionals
The only draw back was it made the car about 20grams heavier

MarcosJ.

Are you running that indoors or out? Just wondering what the air temp was when you ran that low.

--

I think the main reason mine shutdown at 4:30 of the race was because the air temp was 90 that day. I'm sure the actuall track temp was around 120 or so.

Hi all,

I received my GTB a few days ago, built it in and it worked, Waauw, already impressed with the power of the 4.5 when going full throttle on the carstand...

And this is where lies the problem, the moment that I'm more then 5m away from the car, when i touch the throttle only slightly, servo and throttle glitch.
and the servo glitches a lot. Tried on the circuit, same problem.

So I started testing somewhat:

-tried another receiver, tried another channel
-upside down mounting, and different positions in the car
-Mounted the receiver outside the car (with car on a stand and tested with throttle)
-tried without the PowerCap -> WITH OR WITHOUT MADE NO DIFFERENCE.... opened this thing and checked wether I could find anything wrong with it, resoldered all the connections/ components
-seperate receiver pack

Nothing helped, antenna in or fully expanded was a difference of perhaps 1m.
This system worked fine on my other esc and brushed motor.

I'm runnin with a KO propo mars, KR 297FZ receiver and KO PDS 2343 servo on a RDX

Did anybody have this problem before, or know anyone who had this problem and has a solution or so??

Quante, any photo of your layout? I glitch once that's bcz my PT seat too close to KO302 RX. A photo of your elect layout is very helpful to determin what might go wrong.

here are some pictures of the rdx setup. Just tried an extra 4700uF cap, didnt help. Really dont know whats going on... never had any problems with interference, cant be both my receivers are bad... (one sits in my pro10 again and no probs whatsoever)

GTB broken?? but it glitches as well with a receiver pack, I dunno, hope someone has an answer.

Thx for your intrest

Your esc power cables are facing away from the receiver, thats good. I would try moving the GTB closer to the motor. I had interference problems when my receiver was too close to the esc. Once I moved it 3-4mm further away it solved my problems. Hope this helps.

Well, I thought that as well, so I actually got the receiver out of the car, installed the long esc lead to the receiver and put the receiver and the antenna as far away from the esc as I could.

Then put the whole thing on a car stand and tried like that.

Same result, the glitches stayed, so I'm pretty sure it isnt radio interference.
I think for some reason the ESC is making the glitches but I dont know how... I tried with a receiver pack and that had the same problem, seems unlikely that the esc transmits a glitch through the signal wire to the receiver.

Anybody has other thoughts of what could be the cause??

Are you running the capacitor on the esc? Does it work? Try soldering another one onto the arms of the one installed to see if it's OK.

I had alot of glitching when I first got my GTB and the only fix was to get a spektrum. Check all of your solder joints and your car and transmitter batteries.

Quante
I too had all that trouble u are having when i installed my system.I changed everything ,(I was running 40 meg ko 297;s went to 301 then went to 27 meg and then 29 meg) Rearranged everything. Used two then three layers of double sided tape under receiver. Slotted the arial tube so as the receiver wire didnt touch the chassis Spoke to Charlie at Novak and even sent pics( couldnt come up with a reason) so i went spectrum and NOT a problem.
I would be interested if u solve the problem

I can echo the problems with the GTB and glitching.
Luckily mine went away when i moved my reciever away from the ESC unit.
It improved when i resoldered my Rx with a new aerial to the correct length.

Finally i got a good deal on a spectrum unit and now it's rock solid. I know this doesn't directly solve your problem, but the spectrum is that confidence inspiring that I can't help but recommend it!

I'd also suggest moving the GTB rearward as far as possible and trying it again. Cleaning up the wires does help a little as well.

Good luck sorting it out...

Sometimes glitching is just some random thing you can't see. I've never had any problems with my 4.5 System installed in a Xray T2.

Thanks Nexus Racing for the tip on mounting a fan to a AE heatsink I drilled and tapped the heatsink then just used some loctite to make sure the screw doesn't back out.
