The price difference between Sphere/ GTB is that one is made in America and the other in Europe. Here in Holland, the LRP's are way cheaper than the GTB. In America it's vice versa.

For what I've read, no big differences between the two. Both are great ESC's. Make sure you go for the update version of the Sphere is my advice by the way!

I have booth the sphere and the GTB and the GTB is much better for sedan applications than the original sphere. The 1st gen sphere just doesn't handle powerfull enough motors on-road cars.

I switched back to brushed tonight after being a little too competitive (in stock) with the 4300. It's the least fun I've had racing in a long, long time. Even though brushless is touted mostly for its easy of maintenance, that's really just one factor. The motors are so much smoother, and the throttle is much more linear, and the torque in lower speed motors is amazing. It's really, truly, a joy to drive a car with brushless. I'm yanking that tired piece of crap CO27 back out of my car, and they can just dock me a lap or something.

I order mine from Tower Hobbies for $240 with $20 off couple and $8 for shipping. The total is $228. But I order it a month ago so check for the discount coupon.

yeah the cheapest i found was tower at $240US shipped to Australia but they don't accept Paypal for international purchases

Advice please??

Hi guys,

Just installed my GTB + 4.5r motor.

Powered it up and did the one-touch setup.

I have a bit of confusion over the LED's and can't see what I'm getting in the manual.....

Neutral

When in neutral, the blue, amber & red LED's are solid on.

Throttle

When I apply throttle the motor spins, the red LED goes off and the blue & amber stay on. Full throttle shows solid green instead of red but the blue + amber still stays on?

Brake

As soon as I apply brake (from neutral) the red & blue disappear (amber stays on) and on full brake I get blue and amber solid and the green LED flashes.

Any ideas? I haven't tried it on the track yet, only on my car stand. It seems to be operating ok?? I checked the brushless profile which is 1.

Any suggestions welcomed!

Ya Im having a little trouble getting my programming setup. I cant figure out how to change the different options, and also it doesnt allow me to select the profile I want. It stays on the default profile.

Just ran it up and down my road - it goes some speed! Will try it on track tomorrow.....would like to know what the LED's mean though as can't see it in manual.

@Neutral: Red or Red & Green

Min. Brake: Blue

Drag Brake: Blue $ Amber

Dead Band: Blue & Green

Min. Drive: Amber

So when I'm in neutral does that mean I have drag brake on, from the flowchart it sounds like it should only show red or red & green??

When I apply throttle I still have drag brake on all the way to full?

Then when I brake I have min. drive and then drag brake at full brakes???

Confusing.............

This just shows when you're programming your. Like when you hold the setup button, you hold down, and the flow chart shows how the programming goes. You start by programming your radio with the throttle, brake, and nautral. Keep holding down, and follow instructions.
Yes, it is confusing and Im having a hard time following it myself. I also ran mine earlier this week. Its fast!! Car fishtails alittle when I apply throttle. lol

However it's programmed it shouldn't have the LED's on in the way they are on with mine though??

I hear you with the fishtailing I experienced that too!!
