Charlie had a 3.5 in his car at the 2005 On Road Nats. His sedan was the fastest thing I have ever seen going gown the straight. The power is so nutty I think it won't be useful except for very specific situations...giant tracks, velodromes, 4 cell mod oval racing....etc.

The 4.5 is just as fast as a really strong 7T brushed motor.

What a laugh! ...

My friend just chucked in a 4.5 in his car and it looks as fast as i've ever seen an electric rc go. (velodrome not counted of course...)
The 3.5 will be a big laugh.

Does anyone know if an update for the GTB unit is in the works? Or will they just carry that on...?

I run the GTB 6.5 in a XX-4 Worlds Edition (I know, it an offroad) but the power and maintenece is wayyyy to easy. I dont think a update is needed. Its perfec as is. Just a tad large. I wanna get one for all my cars now. BL is the way to go.

Was chatting with Charlie at the TITC, he said he wouldnt dare try the 3.5 on that track as it would be way overkill. Would have been kool to watch

Make the GTB smaller.

Find a way to shorten the wiring loop for the sensor wires...

Make the fan out of steel... LoL!

Then it would be Perfect....

and dont forget to make GTB automatically switch from Brushless to Brushed just by switching motors

So I'm not the only one to snap fan blades?

So far I've just snipped off the opposing blade to try to maintain some balance, but there's not too many blades left now. I'm running off road with my GTB/5.5, and neither has got very hot at all so far, so I'm thinking I can just junk the fan completely without any dramas in the T4.

A little O/T.. but has anyone actually run the GTB in brushed mode against decent competition? How does it compare?....

I just wrote it off as being too hard, soldering all those wires to the motor tab so i never tried it out!!... Good Point Marcos..!

Troy Schafer aka "turbodog" ran the GTB with a brushed motor this past weekend and he ran very well

I've run mine GTB in brushed for stock and 19t for touring. I really haven't tried any brushless for it though. There's really no mod racing at my local track. I've also ran it 4c stock in oval. Now we have a 4300 oval class. Didn't really feel a difference in any mode except in brushless you must keep an eye on your car since it just rolls away. LOL. Also you just have to be quick when you switch to different modes.

I mainly race in 27T and 19T right now. Might go into mod racing later. Will the GTB be a good ESC to use in 27T and 19T brushed motor racing? I currently have the GTX but I want to run brushless later.

Not sure if it would be a wise choice to change to the GTB for stock and 19T racing considering the GTB is bigger and heavier.

You couldn't wire the GTB like that. You would need to glue two deans plugs together because you need four terninals (three for the negative and one for the positive) The sphere is wired differently in brush mode.

If you're going by pure numbers, the GTB is a better brushed ESC than the GTX. Believe it.
