The timing in the motors "is" adjustable. But with ours anyway, it doesn't do anything really. Not enough to make any difference anyway.

Eventually, there will lots of tuning options in the ESC. Timing, "vtec" I've talked about this before so it's never been a secret. Just right now, the cost factor comes into play, and timing. We've always and I mean from the Get Go, have intended to offer all kinds of tuning options for the curves and power of the motor. But truthfully, all out raw linear power is the way to go. Ask some of our guys that have run them. Sure it takes a few packs to get used to, and you have to know what your doing with a fast mod car, but it's good, It's really good to have mad rip all the time. We're racing here right??? But we totally understand why diferent feels are needed for differnt tracks, We're racing right......

When all the technology catches up with the ideas, you'll have unimaginable things you can do with your ESC, never mind data logging and information from the car. It's kind of fun to think about, but it's still a few years away.

Currently I think we use a quad wind. So double, single triple, all that, it's all available, but there's more to it then just that. Wire fill rates and copper percentages all come into play like regular motors. Really you end up making less power, the combintions are endless, so we go for max power most of time and let you "Pick" a wind.

BURITO- Thanks Mate. That's good to know. I get that question on a daily basis. Are you going to the TITC Race in Bangkok??

Thanks Guys!

So, how about those Lipo's, does the GTB shut off when it loses radio signal?

Nope, You need an external fail safe and this also applies to all current high end brushed esc.

Curious to know if the GTB ESC works well with Orion's new LiPo packs?! Does anyone know? Charlie perhaps?! Has anyone tried this combo? I understand LRP's new SPHERE Competion ESC has provisions ("LiPo shut off" I believe its called) which are specifically designed to work with LiPo packs. Any ifno on this would definitely be appreciated. Thanks!

STEALTH,
I've been using the Orion LiPo's with my GTB/5.5 brushless in a tc for about a month now. No problems. I have not installed an aftermarket "shutoff" so I just stop running the car right when it starts to slow down.

Has anyone found the extra weight to be a problem in performance? I weighed my car today and it's 70 grams over weight, is this a normal weight when running brushless?

Charlie,

I've got a 5800 and 4300 that I use with my GTB. Both motors make a sound... like a vibration or resonance between about 20% and 90% throttle. It's very noticeable when the car is on the track, and even more so when the motor is out of the car and I'm applying throttle. I've checked and rechecked bearings and everything in the motors, and I can't make it go away. Is this normal? Is it a function of the "outdated" technology in these two motors?

They both seem to run fine, but the noise they make is awfully embarrassing. The car is SO quiet at full throttle where the noise goes away, but through the infield and such, it's loud in an odd way.
