for those with this motor combo... the fan is very easy to destroy,, i have already taken all the fins off,, just from my car jumping and the wires getting in the way,,, but you can replace the fan with a novak black fan,, it is larer and you can only srew down one side,,, but it is superior to the stock fan that comes on the esc,, in my opinion..

I've found the fan to be unnecessary for off road. Try it without the fan and see if it thermals.

i've been running my system w/o the cooling fan in my touring car. i have not run into any thermal problems but the temperature outside is pretty cool. the fins on the stock fan are way too brittle and they fall off if a small rock or wire touches it while spinning.

I'm considering getting one of the GTB/motor packages and was curious if you HAVE to run the three wires to the positive side of the motor when you're running a regular brushed motor?

Default Worked Great

Jsaves I want a full report on how the brushless works for you. I'm really looking hard at getting one myself.

First runs on the GTB 5.5r went great. No problem with the set up or running of the system. I was chasing the set up but the system ran great against other GTB systems. None of the guys that I ran with had any problems with their GTB's either. I ran older 3300's that had plenty of run time left after the 5 min. were up. It is so great not worrying about changing motors or can it make it one more race. This was a test and tune with some heats and mains, but next race day (this Sunday) will be better hopefully were I can just get lots of practice and racing.
God Bless
Bryan

Is it pretty easy to set up different profiles to different comparable brushed motors? Like if I want a setting colse to 19t?

Only problem I seen with the GTB system was with Toso's car. His body sit too low and he couldnt run the fan with it and thats why his car shut down in one heat race. Other than that though it works awesome!!
