Don't tell me the impact wrecked the ESC (with the old SS the heatsink could rip off in a high-G impact).

I really do think a voltage spike went back to the esc during impact which did the job. Very dissappointed as I have nearly sold all my brushed equipment. I have emailed Novak but won't hear for them until next week

I would have to say I was impressed by the crash performance of the GTB. I was heading down the main straight at full speed (off road 2WD) and didn't see a crashed XXX-4, hit the XXX-4 hard enough to take the left hand rear corner off the car completely. The only damage to the B4 was a stripped mounting hole in the front shock tower which was solved by a longer srew. The speedie and motor weren't effected at all.

Again I would like to say sorry to the owner of the XXX-4.

How are you guys setting up the system in the car?
Is everyone running with the fan on it?
I'm looking for the best configuration for a buggy. The fan makes the height close and the power capacitor is tough to secure to the chassis.

I ran the gtb 5.5 in my xx-4 without the fan today, & didn`t have any overheating at all(could hold my fingers on the esc after a run)
We have a pretty dusty track though, the fan might be handier on a high traction surface with more amp draw.

How are you guys securing the power capacitor in place?
I'm reasomably sure that the LRP Sphere does not have a big power cap on it.

Default Brushless Rules?

Is the GTB with the 5.5 as fast as a 8 turn in a touring car on carpet?

Are you guys running at races mixing the mod brushed and brushless in the touring and 12th?

Thanks for the answers
God Bless

I double stick taped it to my battery bar, couldn't find a better place.

I have not raced my 5.5 yet. But if you do some math and assume the 4300 (10.5 turn) was like a 19T, then you get 10.5/19 =5.5/x where x = 10 and I think the magnet is stonger so it'll probably be like a 9T or 8T. Might not be the best way to estimate, but it is only an estimate.

I servo taped the cap to the chassis and it's coming loose after 2 packs of offroad. Guess I'm going to have to go the Shoe-Goo route. That should work well, I'm just a little bit worried about how permanent it will be.
Power was excellent. It had a much softer feel off of the bottom than the Supersport (a good thing) and I couldn't tell just how fast it was on top because the new layout changes at my local track have a jump every friggin' 5 feet.

So i got a GTB with 5.5 turn motor today, and im very impressed with the size, compaired to the sphere at least. First thing i tested it in was my old rc10L3, i just wanted to see how fast it could go, 55mph was the best i could do, i needed to work on the gearing but it was late and it couldnt see what i was doing anymore, it was also a really dusty parking lot with zero traction.
Now i have it in my pro4 and plan to race it this weekend so hopefully it will hold up on the open mod class.

I ran my GTB with 5.5 on the weekend and I am very happy with the results thus far. It was very competitive and comparable with the brushed motors. I was running against a field of 7 and 8 turns motors and the GTB with 5.5 was the same speed (on the straight, approx 25-30 meters or 80-90 feet). GTB never got above 60'C (ambient temp between 26-32'C)
5.5 was the same. It is very linear and smooth. The system ran flawlessly. So thus far, I am very happy with the system. Still have some further testing with settings and gearing.
Two thumbs up!!!

Leonard.
