I know the GTB is toast, but is there a way to check the motor for damage? Either way, I'll be sending the GTB back into Novak for the upgraded GTB when the cost is determined.

Hmm...mine did the same thing on saturday. I'm just curious...were you using the new spread spektrum version or regular gtb?

Question? I have a 2- cell li-po cut off on my GTX and I was wondering can I run regular cells through the cut off aswell or do I have to remove it? Thank You in advance.

Well technically you can run the standard NiMH cells through your 2 cell smart stop, but being as that the resting voltage of the NiMH cells generally falls off faster than that of a Li-Po packs you might run into stutters and cut offs that the smart stop is mis-interpretting as a low voltage li-po

I was using the regular 1st generation GTB (no lipo cutoff).

We had one let the smoke out this past Sat also. Looked like someone set off a smoke bomb. And it even melted itself to the chassis. Was running a 3.5 in mod class. And i know that it was not the spektrum version.

I'm hoping mine isn't melted to the chassis. I haven't try to pry it off yet. This was only the 6 time I had run it. I've never seen that much smoke. A lot of pretty colors too

hehe, I still have some melted plastic on my fingers. I ripped everything apart while hot so my servo, RX, and PT would not become fused together with the melted GTB. The motor sensor plug was fused, but its gonna go back anyways.

I'll have to take some pics of the custom flame job on my RX .

hmm...i guess I should have taken a closer look at my surrounding electronics to see what other damage there may have been. It smelled so bad I put it in the garage and haven't really looked too closely at it since saturday.

Hey Guys,

Just use the service forms when you send these guys in. Makes the receiving and entering into the computer system a bit easier, and will help avoid any processing delays we might have.

www.teamnovak.com in the customer service section. Also, you'll find the "matrix" of exchanges we now offer just in case you want to get a different model/motor/version of something returned. It's very easy if you look it over.

OK- I need to correct my statement from earlier. We actually had 2 "let go" and both were the newer spektrum units. Not sure if it matters but both were in mod class ... one with a 3.5 and one with a 4.5.

Once you initially set your GTB w/ the throttle trims using the one-touch programming...

If you switch from a 13.5R to a 4.5R motor or vice versa do you need to do any other reprogramming? I'm just wondering if the default Profile of 1 is fine for any of the brushless motors.

The only reason I ask is because the way I have my GTB mounted in a TA05R I cannot see the LEDs. So after initially doing my throttle settings I'm wondering if I need to view the LEDs at another time. Normally I do not do custom profile settings nor will I be switching from Brushless to Brushed...

Thanks in advance Novak
