Culprit means "might be the reason for"

Endplay is exactly that... if you hold the shaft of your motor it is the amount that it can move in and out of the motor.

There should be a small amount of movement... if there is no movement the rotor could be binding up the bearings and causing the bearing failure you are experiencing.

I just want to check that the rotor that comes with the upgrade kit for 4300/5800 motor can be used in 4.5 motor? Thanks.

The rotor that comes in the 5929 upgrade kit will work in your 4.5R just fine.

Sam,

Really depends on your tire size... but if I recall correctly with like 57.5 mm tires I would run 10.5 with the 3.5 and 9.5 with the 4.5... that's with sintered rotors in either one.

I *think* for now it's just going to be sold by itself... I don't think they want to have all those new part numbers to worry about

Just bought a 4300 motor few weeks ago and saw that 10.5 is out. So what is the performance difference between the two motors? Is 4300 going to be smoked by 10.5?

Na, the 4300 is a 10.5. The 10.5 just comes standard with the sintered rotor and a ribbed can. If you get the sintered upgrade kit for your 4300, it'll be the same motor aside from the "ribbed" look of the can. Unfortunately, it's a bit of an expensive upgrade. :-(

steve, will the new gtb prevent posible glitch prob? I had the same prob until i switched to dsm.

If you use the Spread Spectrum only GTB with standard 27, 40, or 75 MHz systems your chances of glitching are higher than if you were to run a standard GTB.

This is because the Spread Spectrum only GTB has faster switching, which while it makes the ESC run cooler and more efficiently, is also more prone to glitching with standard radio gear.

When you run Spread Spectrum you do not need to worry about the little bit of extra noise created by the faster switching because your radio system is operating much further out of range of the interference than before.

Steve . i just bought a 13.5 with gtb , what is the gearing for this motor on a xray 007 US , i started with 116spur and 34 pinion for a final ratio of 5.80 and this thing was asking for more. apprx 135 for temp

I am pretty sure most everyone is gearing the 13.5 in the mid to upper 4's... 4.5 would require a 43 tooth pinion.

we run our 007 with a 100 spur and a 34/36 pinion. This is rubber tires on carpet. You wont be able to gett a big enough pinion on with a 116 spur
