Sadly it would appear so
I did try finding peeps that I've met online, but I was so tired and busy all week I'm bound to have missed a few.

Next time

Haha, fantastic... They are ROAR approved so maybe someone used the wrong battery list?

Carbon adjustable battery holders
Orange turnbuckles
Ti screws

You couldn't let your top drivers run without all the bling upgrades, otherwise the masses wouldn't go out and buy them

I love his complete disinterest in the usual TC 'feng shui' though. Coloured wires, receiver on the servo (!), transponder wire in the way of everything, terrible looking superglue on the shock towers, steering arms on upside down.

It did look more like a club racers car than a worlds racer
Also didn't bother changing the ESC wiring from OEM supplied items.

Having said that, I've been mounting my receiver on the rear of the floating servo to save room

The receiver is on the servo so that there is less on that side to inhibit the flex of the chassis. Notice all the missing top deck screws as well.

The steering arms and c-hubs were both installed backwards. Both were fixed, but the car drove terrible, so he flipped the arms back over. The c-hubs remained correct though.

And one of the the two screws holding the rear of the top deck was still loose lol.

No-onme could belive how flexible the whole car was, like a carbon fibre rubber band

There's every chance that Marc ran a legal battery, and just replaced it with the TP one for the photos, seeing as he's probably getting paid by them. Did you notice whether the TP battery had a tech sticker on it or not?

'Win' on Sunday, sell on Monday...

Yes, it did have the sticker, it's on the power connector end.
But I would also point out that it's a bad showing for the biggest US lipo manufacturer not to get their latest cells approved for a US worlds as they've been out for ages.

Unbelievable! They even had the homologation documents on the table infront of them in tech! Just another brick in the wall if you ask me - this is basic stuff that IFMAR should be getting right without a second thought.

It wouldn't happen on Worseley's watch...

In 2006 I ran the Parma Zytek for a while in practice. I didn't realise it wasn't on the list, apparently neither did tech and it was another racer that picked up on it.
I ran a legal shell for the remainder of the event.

I should have just run my SpeedZone packs then! Would have saved me some $$.

Thats just funny... or is it?

At the Euros this year (lots of fun).... the sticker went on the cell if it looked at least like a battery. Not sure the chaps even looked at the list. Pertty much anything black with a sticker.

However I am not a big fan of Worseleys "slot of doom".

So Skiddins gets there, has his cells rejected, managed to get some more that still failed... meanwhile Marc techs the same cells through.... no problems?

Thats gotta be annoying.

I bought some older Thunder Power 6200's specifically because the newer, and far easier to get, 6800's were not on the list.
I even had to order one of my TP 6200's from the USA (I wanted both packs the same for wire lengths and fitment etc.

I get there and discover my packs fail because I've used them (also told that TP's had issues even if they were new).

Now panicing I'm offered the loan of a Revtech 7100 pack from Chris O'Donohue (many many thanks Chris) and I buy another 7100 from Trinity themselves.

Apart from the fact that the Revtech pack from Trinity came back with a capacity of just over 5000, as did the next pack they replaced it with (these Revtech battery issues caused me to dump in 3 of my 6 quali's!!!) they then apologised, took them back and gave me my money back. No Trinity products will ever be seen in any of my cars again.

However, if I'd known that 6800's would have sailed through I'd have just bought them from one of my local shops, saving me a fortune

Don't get me wrong, I think the right driver won, but is is a bit frustrating that my packs fail because they're 0.2mm too big, yet 'illegal' cells sail through.

Sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue

I knew I should of tried getting a shorty pack through. I know I could have made the A if I had more speed

At least the extra weight may have helped
