I'm glad you read it with the focus on humor I intended and didn't take it personally.

George, who is THE POWERS? LOL
Does THE POWERS know what people want? Is THE POWERS a driver?
He must be fast!

As far as I know you guys, at least Tim and Mike, do have emails from almost all drivers, ask em....those should be THE POWERS!

The 'Powers that be' would be IFMAR, they are the organisation that specify rules and changes to them. Blame them if you have an issues

+1, this is supposed to be fun, but with almost no hype and more questions then answers, it is getting a bit frustrating.

So what about all of the other 12th scale questions?
  • Is there going to be impound for 12th scale?
  • If so, what about tire cleaning and what is approved to clean tires (as I said, I have never seen anyone clean foam tires with compound like you can do with TC tires)?
  • As others have asked, will there be tweak stations etc?
  • What about having trued tires already?
  • How many sets can be checked in?
  • Can we just get a full run down of what 12th scale tire procedures is going to look like?

So I am not planning on the 25+ sets some are, but what happens if some folks buy that many, and you run out? I would have assumed there would have been some sort of pre-order type process so that you would know how many sets you needed, but it seems like we just show up and hope there are enough...

On a personal note, I am very excited about this event. I am looking forward to meeting and being on the track with the best drivers in the world. Being able to hang out with good people, make new friends, and enjoy driving my toy car. I am disappointed in the lack of hype and communication for what is supposed to be such a big deal. The USVTA Southern Nats is next week (yes I am going) and the thread is 45 pages and growing. This thread is only 23. I know onroad is struggling in the US, but both are onroad races, and just not sure why there is such a low level of excitement for this race.

If you call Superior Hobbies, you can pre-order your tires, both the impounded and practice sets. I just did this yesterday morning, and they say the tires will be waiting for me trackside.

Look at the questions that we are still trying to get answered with less than a month to the event and I think it will probably be a big hint. The folks who are attending are all trying to figure out how the hell it is actually going to work out and everyone else probably just wants to see the results on RedRC! I wouldn't be surprised if syndr0me starts a worlds speculation thread here shortly, but who knows.

Did you get the $30 price or the $35 they list on the website?

$30/set. Maybe I have made a horrible decision to pre-order them, but at this point in time it seems to save me a ton of hassle!

I haven't any idea. I had bought 2 sets from Superior about a month ago when they first got the new sets and have been setting up the car to them. Just seems like it would be tough to match batches between those from Superior and those from the track...unless it's the same tires, just who is taking the money for them.

I'm leaning towards the same though, will probably pre-order mine later today.

Thanks!

Hi Matt!
I certainly know who has the power....this was meant sarcastic...as I put into question how the power is used

Why always without drivers and in most of the times against drivers choice!?
Do people that have the power really know what is going in racing? Do they care about peoples choice that entered a race?

Come on, this is not science....we live 2014 not 1980! LOL

Markus send Ifmar a suggestion they make the rules not the host.
They ask for a secured area and we provided that.
They suggested impound I denied that request so the drivers can avoid the burden created.

There are certain issues on the table when that conversation is complete with Ifmar a formal email will be sent to everyone
