Beerbarron, I think it is your motor. It seems for me that I cannot run the motor as long as before with 3300's. You will notice a performance difference if your motor needs to be freshed up.

My IB's have been running strong with a cleaned up motor.

beerbarron, i think you should let the packs cool down without the fan, force cooling is not good for the packs i think it has something to do with the cemical reaction in the packs with force cooling, the next you should let it cool down for at least 1.5 to 2 hrs before you charge again, the IB have more power than the 3300 so you might want to gear down or cut a small amount of your brush at the leading edge to keep the motor cool or else your motor going to fade, hope this help.

if you would just call promatch they will take care of those "dead" packs for you. I have 6 promatch 3800 packs with no problems. I ran them at our regionals and I can tell you, there was no drop in performance from min 1 to min. 8. the packs performed flawless and I still had over 200sec at the end of the race.

you are correct in that promatch has bad support, if you don't even let them know your problem. But I have never been disapointed in promatch one I talked to someone. Jeff has even sent me a duplicate of my order because they put the packs together the wrong way from they way I requested it. I like the fact that they match at 5 amp charge. this means that if you wanted to charge at 6, they would only be better. as far as 30 or 35 amp discharge. that is just the way things go. when there was a change from 20 to 30, we had the same problem. i think jeff goes by the industry more then being in the front of the pack. The majority of the matcher are still doing 30.

You do know Promatch offers a 30 day money back guarantee? It's on their website ... if the packs did fail with in a month they would replace them.

I've been buying promatch for almost 7 years now, I've have never had a single problem. I've also cycled the cells to check the numbers and they are very close to what the lables say. On track performance has been top notch too.

Dude it happen to me too, but the packs i bought was the first batch of the IB3800 and they were weak so they stop selling it for a while, the new batch was improved from the previous batch, you should give them a call ERIKA will take care of you they always do, and for the first batch i bought, i didn't even call or send it back or bash them i just suck it up and move on.

Dodgeguy and Raymuras. I re-cut the comm this afternoon. Once I got the can apart I saw how bad it really was. Then I started adding up how many minutes the motor had on it. Wow. Anyway I should be turning some laps Saturday to see if the speed comes back with the IB' s. I'll skip the fan and give the pack two hours of rest before re-charging.

Does anyone know at what temperatures the chemistry in the cells changes? For instance, if temp reaches 200 is the cell destroyed. Or 220, 240, 300. Just curios what makes a battery like this tick.

Hebiki

Please delete your post and PM me if you want, this has gotten a bit too off topic now.

Not sure when it changes or gets destroyed, but most instructions dealing with IB's states to keep the temperature peaking around 130-140 tops. Anything above that I would guess would hurt performance of the packs.

Groffball- If you have any problems with a pack you have purchased from us, you need to contact us so that we can find where the issue with your pack may be. Jeff (the owner) is available for contact and he would be able to help you figure out where the issue is. We have 100% customer satisfaction but if you don't contact us we can't help you. Our e-mail address is [email protected] and our phone number is 928-855-2226.
