ehhhh.... what is wrong with testing? We test battery types of any manufacturer as we always want to use what our drivers think is the best... I thought the performance in Vegas (where batteries where open and GP3700 had to fight against IB3800) showed enough already. So it will be clear what we will be using in Japan. So you can inform your Japanese friend: Definitely GP.

Yes, only they can talk in Japanese. He also told me Itoh Kyosho also tests with Hirosaka on the Intellect Battery too.

Good see GP and IB compete in track. My friend told me there are mostly Intellect Battery in the 1/12 championship. It will be a good show the GP3900s Vs IB3800s.

Maybe I shouldn't comment on this and some may think i'm starting trouble but sometimes I just have to say what I think.

Why is Orion selling IB3800's if Oscar is saying that they will run GP. I know that SMC will not sell cells it has no intentions of using.

As far as Vegas goes Orion drivers did real well by winning 3 classes and in those 3 classes IB came in second which is not bad. Now one of those racers went to the ROAR Nats and won with GP3300s when that was the only legal cell. So are these guys winning because of battery or is it because they have great skills and are well prepared ?

Team Associated showed up with GP3700's in Vegas and switched to IB3800s because of the superior performance of the IBs. The Trinity drivers also decided to run EPIC3800/IB3800. Based from this either Orion had no IB3800s to use or they simply have special GP cells which is possible because i'm sure that GP will eventually have something new and competitive.

Could I get some input on what Peak Voltage numbers people are seeing for 4-cell packs of IB 3800's at...let's say 6 amps? Thanks in advance

PS- Ray, Thanks again for the help.

I said it a few posts back that peak voltage numbers are hard to compare because some chargers read higher than others plus ambient temperature and pack temperature will have an effect on it.

Typically on a GFX with a 70 degree room temp you should get 6.0 - 6.08.

Thanks Danny, so would you say that on the GFX set at lowest peak at 70 degrees a reading of 6.2+ for 3 run packs is too high?

At .02 peak detect using a 6 amp charge if there is no air flowing on the pack I would expect it to be in the 6.08-6.12 range with the small voltage sensing leads attached. Next time I charge a pack I will look at the PV to make sure that is what i'm getting.

NO problem. For what its worth-I am never concerned with PV as it doesnt seem all that consistent to me. What I do watch are temperature and charge time to make sure everything is OK.

For example and yes this is elementary-if pack is sitting charged, but it says only 1300 secnds and its only 110 degrees-its not done. Also-if its near peaking or voltage is wavering, but not shutting off and its already say 138 degrees-I just hit stop and run it. My temp gun is in high demand these days.....
