Maybe FT can do that....

I guess there isn't much of that demographic anymore though.
The twist is that being during school term time flights etc would be cheaper for everyone.

Impposible to please everyone all the time

I wouldn't be suprised if scotty doesn't adjust as he was LiveRCs color commentator for the worlds last year and I want to go there just to get some more pictures for www.rc50.com. granted at least coverage for this worlds shouldn't be hampered by lack of access and being in the middle of nowhere.

That is not quite the case, since the 13th is Columbus day (in the US) it is a very busy time for Disney since it's a last chance for families to get the kids to the parks and not miss school before all the holidays come rolling around. Not that Disney is slammed but they do see a good spike for Columbus day weekend, and if you have ever tried to book a flight on Columbus day it's not the cheapest day to fly for sure out of MCO or Florida for that matter.

Just some food for thought.

I would suggest that all that are wishing they could attend cannot cause of the date conflict this is still not a confirmed & approved date yet
I'll take all considerations & when the dates are being discussed if in anyway it can be moved forwarded to avoid conflicts
I will suggest it
I fully believe that ROAR has & is trying there best to do what is in the best interest of our BLOC but this is an IFMAR event & we all are working together to make this prestige event on to remember
I have spoken with the ROAR President directly & with confidence there support will be available when needed
Will keep everyone posted & try to get some small details on the 1/12th portion as soon as it is confirmed will communicate it
Thanks again TTYL

I dont know that Scotty would be able to adjust. The hotel where the IIC is gives their week's for Events priority by how long you have been there. Most events are held there the same weekend every year. Like the comic book convention that is there the week before the IIC. It has been that weekend every year for 5-6 years I believe. So the hotel wouldnt kick them out to allow Scotty to move his race. We had talked about this before and how loyal the hotel was to its event organizers once they have events there.

At this point I know where I'll be spending my sponsorship money and supporting that week in 2014.

If you start trying to move the race to accommodate other races you will end up chasing your tail. The IIC is the killer one at this time of year. Change the Worlds date and guys will complain that is is one week before or one week after the IIC/only two weeks before or after the IIC, etc. If people are already set on racing the IIC, there is going to be no way to change their mind. Unless you schedule it a month before or after there will be a "conflict" with it. And even then you are talking about another week off of work in the same month.

I would not worry about the US racer. Seriously, I can't see how you are magically going to get racers to race modified when they don't race it normally. Your best bet is to make sure that the event is not affected by weather and to make it most accommodating to those that will travel from overseas.

I agree that you are not going to be able to please everyone... but let's be realistic here. I think almost everyone would rather see the Worlds and IIC not be on the same dates. If the Worlds could be scheduled the week following the IIC, it would give racers an opportunity to participate in an event that features similar grip levels and competition.

It would make for a great warm-up to the Worlds, for those running 12th scale. In fact, it may even make for a more competitive/closer event... as there are a number of top racers who only run 12th scale at the IFMAR Worlds, and are naturally out of practice with pan-cars coming in to the event.

Even if Worlds was held the week prior to the IIC, it would give the international contingent a reason to stay in country. Having the two events directly conflict with one another is just about the worst scenario for both parties.

Scheduling the races on different weeks would be ideal - especially from a media perspective. EA has stated his thoughts so it could be interesting to see if he would support and sponsor the Worlds if it was the week after the IIC. And the views of other drivers who were planning on racing both.

You also have to keep in mind that if the Worlds were back to back after the IIC, it would mean that a driver would have to be in the US for three weeks.
