There is more and more Tamiya F201 popping up all the time so it's time to start a tread specifically for this car.
This thing is indeed a beauty in body and design.
I recently got mine and like all Tamiya kits I've built in the past has been a joy to put together. I took my time, and was able to appreciate the fit and finish and ingenius design that went into this car. Tamiya builds kits like no other.
The body is nothing short of a work of art. Be anal in this department and you too can admire a thing of beauty with such little effort.
It's almost too good to run but of course it must run! Can you say poetry in motion?
Like anything else this car has quirks and weekneses, so lets hear from all you F1 (F201) fanatics and soon to be loyalists.
We need to address all things good and bad so that we may benefit from each other's inputs.

There is a lot of info at www.formula1-rc.com on the F201 and F1 RC cars in general. It's probably the best site on the net for the F201.

psycho/rc-zombies- Good sites for F201 parts. I'm still holding out for Tamiya parts. 1st would have to be adjustable allum. motor mount. 2nd would be titanium turnbucles.
Tamiya already makes tuned springs and turnbuckles but they are steel.
I'm only doing this so I can keep it legal for the TCS.
There are already tons of parts from other manufacturers including the adjustable allum. motor mount but some plastic cutting is needed.
TPhalen- How does your ride handle? If you got any tips for the rest of us? Please share.
I'll be putting up some pics. of mine soon. I invite all of you to do the same. Myself and others would love to see them.

Dragon Slayer- Tamiya has already stopped making cars and parts for the f103. They are fully supporting the F201 only.
I guess this will eventually make the F103 cars and parts a collectors item someday. If you have an unopenned kit I suggest you hold on to it for while. In a few years it will probably be worth more tahn is was when it was new.
Time to step into the new age of F201. You wont be dissapointed.

i bought an F201 some months ago when it came out in our lhs. then i sold it because i wanted to concentrate on 4wd touring. but when saw an F201 kit with 2 bodyshells (one clear, one prepainted carbon fiber - similar to the TA04R altezza) at a lower price in our lhs, i'm thinking of getting one again. will tamiya release an F201 TRF edition? i hope they do, even a rolling chassis kit with all the options.

In stock form, the car handles pretty good (tires suck, though). I did find that Associated's Macro Shock Springs (made for the 1/12 scale cars) will fit over the stock F201 shocks. Have been using these now for some time to help tune. Bit of a push into turns but really good out (I'm attributing this to the front diff). I'll have some pix on my site soon of my fully tuned car with new paint.
Anyone have ideas where we can get clear bodies (just the bodies)?

They only downside to this car is definately the kit tires! How did Tamiya manage to acheive that wonderful combonation of soft high wear tires, that also have no traction?!
At least the wheels are cheap. I haven't tried any aftermarket tires yet. So I hope they offer better performance.
