In your "last picture," the top, righthand item, are those aluminum suspension bellcranks?

More testing seem to be in order. In time we'll get this car dialed.

For all those able to run in spec races, give some feedback on the tires being allowed(rubber, foam, brand, type, etc.). This will help in others organizing their own spec rules and give us an even platform for testing and share test results.

Cheers.
I have the original Chameleon in mine running the pits hards, a square mtr mount , Tamiya lockers and universal axels, 23/55 gears and the cars is really fun to drive.
I hear the Chameleon 2 is a better motor and the Peak 19t has better magnets.
Time will tell on the motor issue if we ever get something going.

I was waiting to purchase the F201 untill this kit came out because of the two bodies and the supposed lower price of 3000yen/$20-25US. (Shizuoka Hobby Show New Items Release)
Insted, the kit is being sold for $20 more than the original kit.
Oh well, I guess I waited for nothing. Time for me to place my order with my LHS for the Ferrari kit!

Default F201 Hop- Ups

Hello all, new to the thread, but not to the F201. I have had some decent success with the after market parts available. The car wakes up after a few hop-ups. But if you find yourself hooked on the items that Rainbow Ten has to offer don't blame me...you were warned!

BTW - the works well now (still needs a rear sway bar), it has been run a few times at Tamiya America with interesting results

sorry about that when I compressed the pics for the web the letter became unreadable. here the scoop

"options1" picture: (label starting from top-left to right)

racing spring set, high speed gear, lightweight counter shaft, lightweight countergears, (bottom row) aluminum damper cylinders, low friction damper piston set front, low friction damper piston set rear, diff plates for light weight diff joint.

"options2" picture: high grip tires rear, high grip tires front.

"options3" picture: lightweight diff joint, turnbuckle shafts, universal shafts, aluminum arm set, (bottom row) aluminum motor mount, aluminum motor guard, reinforced propeller shaft set.

I talked to Fred Medel Tamiya HQ TCS and he said for next year TCS the final F201 rules will get finalized after this years worlds. The winner of the F103 for north america will get a f201 if they already don't have one. That should be interesting for the winner!!!

They will probably be similar to that of any other Tamiya rules. Are all of those parts made by Tamiya?,if they are I would imagine this thing could be lighter and faster at TCS.

My brother's GM3 equiped F201 is already pretty quick (approaching sedan speed) but it still gets killed in the handling department. Personally, I can't wait until these hop-ups become available or better yet an "F201-R" with all of the hop-ups included.

We sort of are in the Bay Area. We're running 19T spec motors (24 degree), require kit style rubber tires (no sedan or foams,) and no one ways. Open wheel body is also required.

We allow all hop-ups except for front one-ways and non-kit style rims and tires.
