Correct Neil..use o-rings or the tamiya shims under the shock piston to limit droop..

I only use the pushrods to finetune rideheight...

The only problem is range of motion. The shock bodies aren't that deep, so with o-rings in there movement is even more restricted.

under 3 weeks!!!!..eeeik!

having not raced on carpet before it will be interesting, but I have raced plenty of high grip tracks (VHT coated)...

I am really looking forward to the challenge.

has anyone here played with inserts for the F201...

my winning setup included beveling the front inserts profile, to do this I trimmed the corners from the front inners, and then smoothed the edges using a soldering iron, It kinda sealed the foam, and gave me an almost moulded like finish..

works really well for tight tracks, requiring extra steering / mechanical grip..allows the sidewalls to conform a little more, rolling around...(i got the idea from Michelin)

lol

I found limiting the shocks travel to have a positive effect, there is still ample travel, I checked by pusing the chassis down to contact the deck, and also by rolling the chassis side to side, the limited travel helps the car to corner flatter, and carry more cornerspeed.

There are situations where this wouldnt be desirable, either really bumpy or low traction, but it has worked really well on the tracks I have tried so far.

I use one thick black o-ring, with another thinner and smaller diameter o-ring, closest to the piston as it doesnt restrict oil flow by blocking the piston holes.

HELP!!!! Raced the car for the first time on carpet using George's setup, and the car had waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much front grip. I'd breathe on the wheel and it would spin out. I put the stabilizer back on, but then it was waaaaaaaaaay pushy.

Well, my sedan and F103 setups are normally similar from carpet to TA, so I figured the F201 would at least get me in the ball park. Must go faster....

Hmmm... I just looked at the pic of your car, and I see you have teh FW-24 body set, that front wing will cause your car to have tons of oversteer. Try less camber upfront, or more camber or toe in the rear. I hope it works for ya.

Try the Ferrari body/wing set, or stiffen up the front.
